Hiya my rails on my after deck are just upright rails

i'd like to top them off with some timber etc

can anyone suggest a way to attack the rail to the wood

i looked at these from B&Q but as you can imagine they aren't very good quality

and prob won't laste 5 mins outside either

and they are nearly £10 for 2 :o daylight robbers

anyway anyone done anything similar?
