PLEASE Vaughan  - I was a rigger. The pic is in my current guise of ATC SNCO - no one else wanted to do the gate and I figured I’d a ‘bit’ ’ of experience!

I thought it was odd, Dad did many years RAF,  I did 12 years RAF , followed by 6 years working on RAF sites. Never once did i see a Rocky or snowdrop on gate guard.

When I was in, the rest of us had to do such duties, often what would have been our days off.
