NorfolkNog
Not strictly Broads related I know as it’s someway from the river. However I remember the old Blakes handbooks always carried an advert for the Green Man along the lines of “nearly at your boatyard – stop off for one at the Green Man, Rackheath etc etc” I understand that it has been renovated recently. Apparently it had lots of old pictures and a plaque relating to the nearby airfield where Douglas Bader flew from. It seems all this old memorabilia has disappeared which is very sad. Regrettably it’s a pub I have never been in but I just wondered (long shot I know) if anyone had any photos of the pub as it was, particularly of the interior? Many thanks

NorfolkNog
Hi Mark No, I have it on good authority from someone that had been to the re-opening. Only just happened though from what I can gather, I believe it was closed for a while.

It closed about a couple of years ago and looked very unkempt most of the time since. Then there were signs of refurbishment about 2 months ago, and it re-opened about two weeks ago. mbird
When I first moved to Norfolk, we used to have a Sunday roast there. It was very good indeed, but then we didn't visit for a while and it seemed to become less popular generally. Not sure what the reason was, but let's hope they make a success of it again. It's the only pub between Sprowston and Wroxham so should have plenty of passing trade!
