  1. Hiya

The lock operates HW -2hrs to HW +1 ½hrs, during 0600 - 2030hrs

I am not bothered either way about the non-tidal bit - would be nice to see but extra miles. I guess its a choice as to do that or have some play time on the way / way back from St.Kats.

meeting at Yacht club I think a good idea cheersbar

  2. When it come business arrangements I have always found James at WRC to be fair and reasonable with me. I have renewed my mooring with them this year. I cant however say the same for BA

  3. Slightly off topic but still tolls,

Has anybody heard /know ,if the ba can warn/prosicute you for not having a tolls disc in your mariner? i know they were going for it ,but has it been made law yet?

    Hi Trevor

I think you will find that is what they mean by "adjacent waters" so yes - but in my experiance it depends who owns the "adjacent waters" :naughty:

  4. Will do - gonna get expensive as Maggott is doing it too :o

Joking aside - great cause - we know two people affected - fortunatley (or more importantly down to the good work of those who have gone before) one has been clear for a good while and the other has a good prognosis.

Just make sure you dont look like Mr Blobby going around ...lol!

  5. Some people know I have an ongoing run in with BA over tolls policy but I do think we do need the services provided.(notwithstanding that bridge issue)

However if you look back at what you have been paying you will notice tolls have risen over 50% in the last five years. Have the costs of these services risen by that amount?- I doubt it, but if they have then BA are not managing properly - believe me I know all too well the financial pressures of business recently.

A divsersion of the tolls into overheads tells me a lot!

As I have said before Section 31 of the Harbours act makes interesting reading.

  6. With tolls soon becoming due and considering the restrictions imposed last year by the bridge I think it could be worth mentioning that from my investigations I undertstand that the BA has the right to charge these tolls by way of the Harbours Act 1964. However the act does allow for vessel masters etc to challenge the level of charge, or whether the charge should be levied at all under section 31:

Not pre-empting another season of issues- just out of a matter of interest you understand.

    regards
