  1. Hi,

good idea, but to be useful you,ll need some meaty cables, here,s a indication of power needed for 12v imersions, A 12 Volt 100 watt immersion will heat 1 Litre of water 1 degree C in 1 minute and draws just over 8 Amps.

A 12 Volt 400 watt immersion will heat 1 Litre of water 4 degrees C in 1 minute and draws approx 35 Amps.

A 12 Volt 600 watt immersion will heat 1 Litre of water 6 degrees C in 1 minute and draws around 50 Amps

  2. Our plans are dependent on two guns Gary delivering Binky back to KQ fully functional by next Thursday Simon. Based on experience over the last ten months, please don’t plan your end of hols weekend around that.

If all pans out, sure there would be no problem at all finding a second crew at Reedham and imagine you'll be on your way back up river by then anyway?

mmm sounds like you need a new engineer!!!!

  3. hi,

obviously without seeing it ,a complete engine swop seems a bit premature,it may be that the reason the engine overheated is that simply the head gaskets blown,or the lack of cooling water from the water pump has caused the gasket to go (more likely),in which case it,s a new gasket ,and to be sure a skim to the head, quickest is a recon head, less expensive than a full exchange?

    all the best ,Trev

ps volvo pentaman may be along shortly!! :naughty:

  4. hi guys,

channel 12 was like ,ermmm, entertaining lol,,anyway today mon,we arrived at the bridge at 1145 and the guys were working on it,the bridge was showing one red flag ,and the sign saying bridge will open, the operator comfirmed that they were carrying out test swings all day.Thier bieng 9ft 6 inches showing we slipped under.....holy backsides it was close!! i now know every rivets dimensions!! :o

  5. " issues with replacement Colin, firstly size, the one on Clanny is built in, with flanges to fix rather than floor mounted and I don't think there is an IsoTherm to suit the opening and secondly paying £500 plus for a fridge for the boat seems a lot, then again I am a bit tight when it comes to anything other than the propulsion and safety side "

Hi, you can buy a isotherm commpressor and evaporator ,and fit them in your existing case, they come ready charged with reselable couplings, and a stat, still quiete expensive but not as much as a whole one,i did this in a previus boat and could run the fridge on 1 ,anymore and milk started to freeze ,you have to measure the cubic capasity and buy the nearest one to suit

worth a look, it,s my next project also as my engel sounds like a traction engine!! :wave
