  1. hi,

as there is a forth coming gathering at wrc in jul 3.4 ,i was thinking of taking my travel rod and a few bit,s and pieces(i normaly sea fish),are there any pike in the river near there,or is it mainly the usual coarse fish ??? any tips welcome!!

  2. I am thinking of getting my engines serviced - they were done last season - alledgedly......hi fummy you should say that ,after just buying a boat recently, iam just in the process of repairing my drive after alledgedly work was done on it,

As the work i am having done on it is rather specialist i am having a mercruiser mechanic do it,

regarding engin,es i would personaly do my own, after a queote for 500 pounds to service two mercruisers ,all that was included was oil and filters, and a alternater belt,i ve just bought the lot for 240 pounds which includes two fresh water impelers and 20litres of oil ,ok i will have the hassle but for 250 pounds i,ll do it.

Depends on how confident /comfortable you feel doing it,with a manual it should be a breeze :party2:

  3. hi,

hope you don,t mind me adding to this ,Sue and i would like to thank everyone at the wekend for a very enjoyable time, especially all the organizing people did,and everyone,s advise and hel[.

why hay boating here we come!!! it,s going to be wet out there!

see you all friday at oulton ys,if your about when we arrive ....catch us wer,e very light and get blown about!! :party2::dance

  5. So here she is on the trailer on her way back to the wet stuff. I must comment that I am extremely impressed wit hthe way the guys at Brundall Bay do their lifting, and the whole procedd from being chocked on the hard to afloat was less than 10 mins! my only previous experience of having a boat out of the water was dragging Tranquil Breeze up greased boards by a winch connected to the snore hole. Not a procedure I would wish to repeat!!!!

My Dad and I took her round to Brooms to fill up with diesel (ouch! 95p/litre, total of £226 :o ) and have a pump out (yes, the boat was sold to us complete with other peoples turds). And then back to the mooring.

I've got sterilising solution in the water system at the moment, but Saturday should see her all clean and tidy inside, and then Sunday brings a Breydon shake-down blast in readiness for next Friday!

    I CAN'T WAIT !!!!!

    What trailer????

  6. hi,

personally i,d just fit a new ,horizontal calorifier in the engine bay(ours in in there aswell starbourd side ),i wouldn,t worry about the engine conections ,if your stat,s heathy the pump will fill the coil on the calorifier no problem,1/2 inch as aposed to 1.5 inch full flow.Depending on how far you want to go,with the job ,but you could just leave system as is,and just make sure that the calorifiers full(by running the pump)before you used the imersion,

here,s a link to some calorifiers but i suspect you,ll have seen them before http://www.surecal.co.uk/Product/SureCal.aspx ,good luck what ever you decide

  7. hi,

the only problem i could see in raising the outlet from the hotwater tank would be if it were higher than the tank in the bow,ie it wouldn,t fill by gravity,ie there may be a delay whilst the pump pushed the water up the outlet pipe..I think i would install a preassure pump between the bow tank and the mid cold and calirfior(you could use the old pump and install a preassure switch which would be less money) this would give you a preassurized water system the only part missing is the preassure switch, and maybe a non return valve between the bow tank and the pump feed

    just a thought regards trev

agree with others about the engine water jacket conections

  8. hI,

not heard of that set up before, mine has a craking battery for each engine, and one domestic, with a 3 way split doiode for charging from any engine, when moored overnight ,with no shore power we isolate the starting batteries and use the domestic only for lights/tele ect, that set up is a new one on me?
