they reckon i,m the modern day sroooge..................barrrrrrrrrrrrrr....hummmmm bugggggg..... proof below how generous i am ....... i willl make a call via the modern tele phun thinghy to the said boat builder in question to the mans wife with these intructions ....... mr mattt may have an 30 min break, to return sev mile back hum and spend time with the family and eat his christmas dinnner , a three bird main and a pheasant ,duck roasted pots and all the best trimmings etc but can mrs matt use the blender thing on his dinner so he can whizz it dun his neck quick and not waste time chewing and get back to tar the bottom orf this boot ........please no welcome kisses and no playing with his adorable little princesss.s , use my porsche to get there so he can get there quick and get back quick too...... there will be a straw and a plain glass orf best water hand picked water from one or me puddles to which i have strained in mother inlaws nicker and tights so nice and clean now ...... we did to my wifes nagging give a little present out for all hard works dun by the teams ..... the dogs had been sniffing for days in the corner and i got fed up in the end pullled out the ole sofia and found to me luck three of them ole old naff to toffess from a well known sweet tin ....................... dished out accrodingly with a full hand shack and merry christmass,..........did reform wrapper and wipe dog slivia orrf tooo so be quick and get back ..................... as for young mr "al " he has to make his time up by starting nice early 5.30 am please ......thank yuo ....

ahh picture my yard ohh dear a mix of everything .......!!!!! rows orf boots on land some short some long ,some fat some wide ....... steel,woood concrete,ply, plastic and fibreglass too we have them all from now to past ,,,,,,,,,,,,, with sail and some with in excess orf 450 hp .................. with me holes in the rud and mud every where i,m sure yuoull reconize a diy workin boatyard.......... my poor ole yard has seen some changes over the years........................

the ole tin house as yer put it ,is the ole isolation hostpital from times past for the dreaded tb don,t yer know .... the man who live in it and owns it is a good ole friend of mine for many a year or 20 now ..... the tin house bungalow is a little tardis inside and as snug as a rug pillars on front are plasctic to annoy all who ask ................!!!!!! a man after my own heart and he and i have alot in common ..................... re boats on the yard ......................... the yard currently house around 250 ish boats land storage sheds and water moorings combined ..... i,m sure no one has had that many on her befor ...................... some boats are still here from the days when mike harvey had it ...blimmmey when we took over there was alot of " one a be boat builders " trying to take peoples monies for works etc to which we felt that was rong and removed as soon as we could so they can go and ripp some orff some where else .... alll of the boats they worked on were either repossessed by us or broken up once the plywood hidden bodges were disscovered............... several poeple lost alot orf ole monies in boats that were suppose to be fitt to lift and float ....haaaaaa...... removed some orf the poor ole smart deck now and so far the deck beams are ok and the carlins are a bit gone in places as to be expected but the beam shelf is ok ,all the full length so far exposed and just crappy ole ply wood deck covering and poor ole steel screws in places where they should not be ...grrrr so " al" has been busy ....... next week we will burn some orf the ole paint orf and see the real extent orf what is wood and what we can do with what is left ....????? " mr b " hopefully will still be smiling in a week or two s time ....!!!!!

nice pics and info ...... i think the yard is alittle more busy now and still as packed with old boots aswell as modern stuff too still have bbqs.waffle alot and advice is free tooo......................... sadly janet passed a few years back too.................... come and see we are fulll to the brim ................................

ahh god ole salvor I could tell thee as story or two of her and many a trip too .......... bring on the woods classics I say ......... good ole leo on the job and a little help too latrs ..... keep that ole yacht nice and get her to sail next year so she has a trip or two ......

in she goes all safe now .... she will be set realy low to ground first to sort out decks and cabin side ...... we spent a further day or so trying to remove stuff jammed in cuboards and secret holes around the boat ..... the whole front end has been cleared out to access all the bilge and bunk tops and floors to get some ole 5 star wood treatmnent in there first ....... spray away I did ,while top boat builder "al " coughed his way along the day ....... sorry "al " I said ...umpphh was his reply ..... she has been set nice and square ish on the floor and loads of support along the chine to keep her shape tooo when we lifted her she did,t move an inch as the ole keel on this one is huge ....which does help and built a little better than some of the ditch crawlers from around ere ..... she will need a good dry out on roof and decks etc deck is laid type but sadlt she was liad on top of some of besy bill board ply and the year have not been kind to her so it orrf to the skip for this lot ...grrrrr cabin side were replaced some time ago too and similar quality ply too ....ohh dear ..... elecs on her are good and engine was a sweet ole bmc 1.5 good ole girl, we still build them yer know ....... plumbing all modern too ...........yippee galley is huge on this one and a modern one was fitted some time ago so good for a goumet cook I reckon .........

now back to ole queenie .......... will she fit in that ole shud ....????? gentle does it ........ all looks a bit awkward as some numtie put aload or ole quality stuff like rubble and wood opp the shud for awaiting use or around the yard to fix stuff like hulls and hoools in the yard......

here is the sister ship in better times ..... poor ole " princess " she was lifted to go onto land for a few planks to sort out befor she go .... whilst on the lam nd at that time we had a one of the wayford mini tornados ...... which on that DAY LIFTED A 23 FOOT CRUISER and then decided to attack poor ole princess wheel house and with a huge amount or neg pressure blew the whell house roof off and windows out ..opps better make the call I suppose ...!!!! was soon repaired amd she was loaded onto transport to a sad ole end years later grrrrr we did try to get her back to ...but to no avail .....

ahh at last a pic or two ...... looking a bit sad in the hoist ..... with a half hearted cover which was rottern and not cover the decks etc all removed to get some air on her she was attacked with the washer to get some ole loose stuff off her left to stand the nite befor into shed where she.ll be for a week or two ...!!!! next into shed ................nice and easy ..

i,m going to do my best to do a rite up of the ligth restoration /repair of a classic 1936 herbertwoods ligth class boat her name is "queen of light " she now sits in one of our sheds in the boat yard here at wayfordmarineservices she changed hands some time ago into the ownership of a great man who loves woodies and has a great love affair with the broads and the wooodies ,goood ole boy i say ...... we will try our best to fix her good and proper and report our works as we go ...... she has been sat on the hard standing for some time apppox 2/3 yrs the previous owner did love her so but due to a slight ick up with a great blood vessel thinghy near his heart which sat him on his **** and put stop to the planned works on her he owned her for some time and pulled her back from the thames about the same time the sister ship "princess of light"left us to go to sandwhich kent to new owners sadly she is in a desperae need of a rebuild last seen on land with no internals back to queen we lifted her a week ago to place on slipway for a quick pressure wash to get rid orf the ole green stuff befor enter to shed for dry out inspection and plan of works to do

being a person who works mostly out side all year i can cope don,t need central heated workshop nor heaters on flatt out man up and get on with it ..............!!!!!!!! now i,m off to the boat shed or two to switch the heat on and settle into my chair ....!!! come on get on with it ......

teak and holey or equive is made far from ere and cost a plenty ..... sheet will set uer back around £280.00 ish then yer got to back it on to something as comes on a thin sheet we resin ours or use a special water base laquer super tough too it is some wood suppliers sell one sheet we but in multi so get good money orf try robbins timber for large Bristol local source try tim Collin wroxham or have some like a quality laminate manufacture make yer some if yer cleaver and got time make yer own with wood or fillers its been dun and look ok too...... have fun ...... don't forget to trim edge with some thing and make a way of lifting the floor tooo.....????? now do a 40 footer and see how much.....???? yer can get plastic laminate tooo hope that helps ..........???

more wood work this week with new floors being made for posh ole boots alittle teak and holley goes along way ............... well done matt a superb job done of coarse mow get them ole planks in that broom captian in my shed ,so I can get her out and put a plastic or two in lots to paint and strip for new 2014 season

rite got the ole girl in at last and drying out too she is nicely, but with showing more of her hidden issues too... decks bad, bottom not bad.....needs a wipe I reckon ...!!!! cooker dirty too..... inside is a gem with few mod cons too.... now she is settled down on the ground to aid works on deck and cabin sides etc got to look after me ole mate " al" the most senior boat builder spent most of day taken rubbish out or her draws and hidden cuboards...... lots of secret hiddy holes in her I will start her own blog etc if that not take too much time up and screen space on here etc gently does it a bit tight in here turn sharp and a little push and shuvv.... bad driver error I reckon I need some more lessons ...... yard quite today ............ couple of brave souls lookin for a needle in a haystack and can I just ,have yer got do yer know etc ....

well at last we have lifted the ole queen into slip way ready for her new journey to be reborn along a long list of classics .................... anding she was every move lifted with care with " mr b" in close contact with every inch of the delicate move from her long stay on hard standing to the slipway and quick clean orf the old moss and green stuff befor into shed come on" al" get on with it ........................... quick meet with an old friend to see about a long ole classic looking bfor new hum meet and old friend from the summer with his good wishes from far flung enfileld in the south port near the smoke stuff adna card withgood wishes and a new king to proper for new yaer 2014.........
