Hi Alan (JawsOrca)
Things did'nt go according to plan regarding cruising unfortunately, but ended up at the semi waterside one as you described, as it wasn't too far from the marina and bloody hell we should have taken body guards in with us. My husband is a 3rd Dan Black belt in Shotokan Karate and he felt intimidated lol
The Malta Inn is lovely we went there a couple of years ago by car, hopefully if things go according to plan next time we will give it a go.
Thank you for great advice regarding Moorings and the locks, very helpful, we went through the lock just before THAT pub and had a good laugh if I am honest, I actually came out of the cabin

Hi Brian
I noticed the mini eggs chocolate in the car, good to see you've got your priorities right lol

Have a lovely Easter everyone

Alan (Ranworth Breeze), I will come out of the cabin when we are safely through the locks, but will probably have to have a glass or two of wine to steady my nerves and just watching those boys work the lock is exhausting

Alan, I think I know the one you mean we have a friend of a friend who fell in at that lock, to make matters worse it was a hot day and people were enjoying the weather watching the boats go through the lock, luckily he wasn't hurt but extremely embarrassed. I think that's probably the reason I hide in the cabin ha ha.

Thanks once again, will phone Bridge Boatyard and maybe head that way if we can bag a mooring. Know what you mean about the locks, having said that hubby and sons do all the work I just Hide in the cabin lol.

Thank you Alan, sorry for another question but are there public moorings available at East Farleigh?

We are taking family out on the Boat over Easter and would like to take them for a nice lunch and a few drinks, apart from The Anchor at Yalding and The Malta Inn at Allington we wondered if there were any pubs or restaurants within easy walking distance from the upper reaches of the river?
I know that Alan (JawsOrca) and Mark (Psychicsurveyor) have Boats on the Medway so maybe they have some ideas.
Sorry not Broads related so hope I have posted in the right section.

Happy 50th Mike, can't think of a better way to celebrate than a boat on the Broads, hope you have a lovely time

I wish him all the best of luck and hope it goes well for him, the fact he does a lot for sick and disabled children makes him a really nice bloke in my opinion.
Having said that, it's a pity he wasn't the real Johnny Depp, I would have offered to be his assistant any day and completely free of charge

'There is always a downside with any way of life, but with boating at least you are on the water'
Alan, that's exactly how I feel, I read somewhere that it's better to have a bad day on the water (if that's possible) than a good day in the office or something like that, so Mark, roll up them sleeves and clean lol

Just read it, what a brilliant story thanks for the link Iain.
Janice, lets hope Her Royal Highness doesn't invite the other royal girls on board for one of those dreaded hen parties, one wouldn't want to be seen flashing at Frank (mowjo) it's just not proper.

Alan, it is a monkey but it's dressed as a duck, have you not seen things like that when you've had a couple, I know I have lol

Hi Alan
Have only been out to see on a Ferry to France and that was rough and quite enough for me lol, so don't blame you for chickening out as you put it, hope it goes well next weekend for you.

Hi Kadensa
Good choice of Boat, we've hired Dream Gem (very similar) in the past.
Don't know about sacrificing overseas holidays but I would sacrifice my husband for Broadlander lol

Hi Mandy
Just looked at Freedom Boats website and some very nice boats on there that would certainly suit your requirements. We don't have dogs so never been an issue for us.
Let us know what you decide

We haven't hired the Blenhiem but did get to look around her a couple of years ago, very nice and comfy for 4 so should be ok for your crew.
Not sure about last minute availability at Easter but have you looked at Richardsons, very good range of boats and good value for money in my opinion.
If you have not already come across it there is a topic running about wi fi on Richardsons boats at the moment, it's in the Broads Related Chat section.
Have a lovely time on what ever boat you choose.

"I was Joking" I know John So was I, mean't to have said I'll just hide
Grace

Thank you John will tell hubby, he does the mooring at the bridge, I just hide.

Alan, I'm glad the web cam has gone at the bridge, with people feeding swans, sitting at the hotel or just standing on the bridge witnessing our worst mooring attempts ever lol. When we wild moor and not a soul about we do it with perfection.

With you on that one Iain, we have cruised under the bridge many times without incident, I have never taken a boat through myself but my husband used to love it, in fact when we first started boating I used to run and hide in the cabin when we approached a bridge and if a sailie thingy came along you would'nt see me for dust lol.
Nothing against the web cams, just would'nt want to be moored near one.

Good points Alan but I would find it such a bind to have to keep doing my hair and make up, one has to look ones best for the cameras you know lol

Alan, I don't think going to the doctors will help, once we are lured into the world of boating whether it's project boats, hire boats or private boats you are lost forever lol.
Great pics once again, keep it coming, can't wait to see her finished
