  1. Evening - defo shopping bags or bin bags for clothes as easy to put away. Fridges on boats aren't that big so a soft freezer bag useful for initial fridge overflow plus you can re freeze the freezer pack in the fridge. Frozen milk also useful as it will also keep a freezer bag cool & great for wine and beer. Can easily be stuffed under a table. Enjoy and sure you will have a great time!

  2. Evening Sue - great to see that you are still coming back to this lovely corner of UK for so long. Do you have any fond memories of the Broads as a child - would be great to share?

  3. Agree re above Potter Heigham. Lovely area - always very exciting as a kiddie as it meant we were going to the seaside once we arrived at West Somerton. Had a brilliant couple of days up there 2 years ago. Beautiful!

  4. THE SOUTH

The best on the broads in my opinion are Waveney River centre - just fabulous - heated floors and blue lighting!!! Other options are Norwich yacht station. Broom at Brundall have some but you would need to speak to them as it's normally in their mooring fee. Oulton Broad yacht station and Beccles yacht station. There are also some at Goodchilds at Burgh Castle but maybe just for those who moor - give them a ring if you want to know more.

There is also the swimming option either at Waveney River centre or Beccles lido - latter a must in August - will be off there myself!

    THE NORTH

Great Yarmouth yacht station is your first option. After that it's all about the boatyards - Herbert Woods at Potter Heigham, Richardsons at Stalham, Barnes Brinkcraft at Wroxham and Horning Ferry Marnina at Horning where you can also have a swim.

There maybe others but these are the main ones. Have a good holiday.

  5. My parents had the biggest & heaviest mudweight I have ever seen. It came with the 1950s Broads wooden cruiser they had for years and took 2 of us to lift it! I can't remember it ever dragging. . Ours is much lighter & its painted with Gold Hamerite! Had an interesting morning last year trying to remove the boat away from a post near the island on Barton due to the wind & the mudweight dragging!

  6. The Potter tea rooms are very nice and right next to the bridge. I have also had good reports of the teashop on the bridge at Filby. You could go to How Hill - teashop is only open I think at the weekends. There are a couple of nice tea shops in Salhouse as well. There is East Hills at Brundall, Rosie Lees and Trios in Loddon - the last is one of my faves. Oulton Broad also has a couple of nice ones. For the unique setting How Hill has to be a winner!

  7. A friend of ours had one but dumped it as it ran the battery flat. I bought a cheap paddling pool last year and intend on using it over the next few weeks when moored up when it gets mega hot!

  8. Evening - railway station at Brundall might be a good bet and pick up passengers from Broom Boats. Other options are pub car parks (with permission) Somerleyton, Waveney River Centre, Bramerton might be options. Enjoy and hope the weather is good for you.

  9. Morning - you might also want to try the Museum of the Broads. They have a number of old holiday catalogues and other memorabilia which it might be worth photographing & then getting made up.

If you pop in on a Wed the archive team are in and maybe able to help.

  10. The second one looks a bit like the old shop at Womack water but it could also be Wroxham or Horning but I wouldn't expect the water to be so calm there unless it's down one of the dykes which it could be at Wroxham in particular. Their first one could be the same but the height it's taken from is confusing & they didn't have Drones then. Great photos and love how the dog is also posing!
