I believe Ranworth island is now £13

Actually Grendel it was £12 and the young girl collecting it managed to spread more Goose Crap on my doormat, not my Goose not my crap, Too much for no facilities plus the problem of the Geese in my opinion.

golden bridge is getting a bit long in the tooth and is priced accordingly but she was presented spotlessly clean and is very comfy, I can assure you we've paid a great deal more for far less. So if you like the look of any of there fleet, go for it you won't be disappointed.

Hi Andy, yes you won't be disappointed we used to hire Golden Bridge before we bought our boat, we even thought of buying it if they ever wanted to sell which we thought they had, then found out they were refitting her and hiring out again, it used to be there Friday boat which was good for us and a lot quieter than picking a boat up on a Saturday, sorry you had to miss the gathering Saturday it was good, enjoy your week and look after Golden Bridge regards Ted

Well I am looking forward to it will be moored on the island Friday night ready to set off for the c in c at 11 o'clock Saturday morning, as for stowing fenders on deck not so easy when you're single-handed but will try my best, at least it will please Griff and just kick the buggers off before mooring, and trying not to fall in the water Ha Ha

  4. In my last boat it was very easy to read the oil level as the oil was black even after a few trips since an oil change, the boat I have now has a very similar engine basically a 1500 BMC /Thorneycroft, I have this serviced on a yearly basis the oil is always clean and golden in colour, O plus the fact  I have never topped up the oil between servicing, and when you start the engine even in the winter you get a two second puff of smoke and then nothing, so happy as Larry (big grin)

An example of a pilot rail

And another example of the pilot rail fitted to the bow of my boat, Identical to the ones fitted to the Broads authority Boats, Allowing you a handhold when crossing from one side of the boat to the other where a pulpit fitted in the normal way might cause a problem with changing mooring warps from one side to the other.

    Great news,

Our brilliant tech expert has fixed the Paypal button. Thank you.

Payments are now possible for moorings, could you add to the thread when payment is made to enable the Events team to keep track.

    Teds £10 paid (wild thyme)

  7. The Norfolk Broads in the winter months can be quite magical, totally different to the crowded waterways and the dodgem car mentality of high summer mainly attributed to the northern Broads, The winter months mean having your heating on day and evening, hot water bottle or live bed warmer at night And with short days you need to think of entertainment for later in the day personally I admit watching the telly while savouring a bottle of wine and cooking my evening meal, and then off to bed with a hot water bottle no I haven't got one of those other things LOL

Often stuff is now more expensive through them and It's worth shopping around. I also don't like the way they try and trick you into signing up for Amazon Prime; you have look very closely for the tiny text which allows you to buy something without signing up, then they try to get you again at the next stage! They got me once. You only get one reminder to cancel before they start charging you.

    And they've nicked the Rugby!

This happened to me a few years ago on ordering something can't remember what now but didn't realise I'd signed up for their prime rubbish, took a lot of phone calls and time to get it cancelled including the first and last order I will ever have with Amazon, the fact they no longer take Visa credit cards Doesn't worry me in the slightest but I hope it affects their business.

  9. I saw one a couple of days ago looked ridiculous and totally out of place for the Broads, looked like an open wagon taking livestock to the market and also looked very unstable, as a youngster we used to build rafts that looked more stable than that Just saying

I also wonder who is going to buy a Challenger, as a private boat!

I would imagine they'll probably end up as a live a board for those that can't quite stretch to a mortgage, But I'd hate to think what the mooring costs will be their big boats.

The Hamptons biggest draw back for me is the engine positioning. In such a small boat it needs to be in the stern

Quite a few Hamptons were fitted out with the engine in the Stern with hydraulic drive, our first Hampton which was a MK 2 Had the engine in the cabin so I know what you mean, but my present Hampton has it in the Stern a lot quieter and less diesel smell.
