Sounds wonderful. I love March for being afloat as you probably know although we’ve not hired for a while. Safe travels and have a great time.

I was thinking that there was nothing going to happen this year. The falcons seemed to be rarely there, mostly sitting on one of the corners, and never there at the same time. This is encouraging news.

The King’s Head in Hoveton is also reported as reopening today after extensive refurbishment of all areas.

Picked this news up on a local site. Whether you know it as Liberty or The Bridge or by its new name of Water’s Edge, I think this is very good news.

We haven’t been down the Chet for many years now. Interesting to read your perspective. Still worth cruising?

Just putting it out there ... not everyone wants other people's dogs around them when they go out ... I know dog owners love their own and other people's dogs but not everyone does.

We've driven through the village a few times. I used to like visiting the gardens when we had the caravan at Lowestoft. It's a pretty area for being out and about by car.

It certainly did brighten up late afternoon ... lovely photo. I've not moored there other than possibly a quick coffee stop many years ago. What's that area like for an overnight stay?

We went for a lovely walk at Womack Water yesterday and saw several hire boats out and about. I guess it's those favourite spots that are always occupied even when it's quiet.
Also drove through Catfield yesterday. Is the Crown worth a visit?

Fabulous morning to be out early. Beautiful sunshine for a change although it is clouding up already. Have a great day wherever you end up.

Wow! What a trip! The strange thing for me was reading about your time in Sydney and looking at your photos knowing exactly where you were even though it's halfway around the world. And recognising so many other place names too, that we either visited, saw on train routes, or have heard about from our son.

Here’s one of the links to the info about this stretch of the A14 around Newmarket. Sorry, I couldn’t find it earlier.

Signage there suggests that they’re emergency works, but it does seem odd that these repairs are necessary already.
They are having to do these emergency flood relief works on the eastbound side as per my post above.

I went into Norwich yesterday. It was delightful. A walk by the river and up past the cathedral. Browsed a couple of clothes shops as I prefer to try things on before I buy them if I can. Then I loved looking round Castle Fine Art. Beautiful pieces that took my breath away by one artist in particular. You just can’t get that feeling online. Now I need £800 and a suitable space. 🤔 Then something from the bakery while I waited for the bus home … you can’t get that online either.

I've been reading about this on local news media. It has been a very serious situation with the A14 being flooded by water from the adjoining land. We were fortunate that the road had two lanes open when we came back up there from London on Thursday last week. They had pumped away 10 million litres of water over the previous week.

The road and the car park down at NBD in Wroxham seem to be clear for the first time in months .... apart from the few weeks I don't know about because I wasn't here.

I hope it wasn't too early Helen. I would think that it would be hard to settle back down after that.

The cameras are live now for this year’s peregrine watch for anyone interested.

We did see someone appearing to be helping themselves to logs around Mousehold Heath on the outskirts of Norwich when we drove past at the weekend. It does happen.

Fabulous! We also thought how clean the city was. So many views of the harbour bridge from different places but we never got tired of it. I was glad we got the chance to walk across it … note, not over it. No way would I have done that. 😂
Definitely lots of traffic lights with junctions and road layout that reminded us more of America than England. Pedestrians seemed to generally respect the lights as well and wait to cross on their turn.

Flying from Heathrow again (will not be using that Plaza lounge though
I think it was the Aspire lounge that we used in Terminal 5 and wouldn’t do that one again either.
Great that you enjoyed it so much that you’ve booked another cruise. Loving seeing your photos.

Great to start reading your write up. First time on the M25? Wow! How have you avoided it for so long?
Your description of your day at Heathrow is so reminiscent of our experience. We managed to get our cases checked in a little earlier than we expected. And then security was quite easy. I think we used the same lounge as you and were a little underwhelmed by it. We wouldn't use that particular one again.
That does sound like a loooooooong journey. Makes me very glad that we made the decision to overnight at Singapore before travelling on to Sydney. You must have been so happy to get onboard the ship.

Good to hear that Dollies is still open at Ludham Bridge.
