There are more pictures, including some more up to date interior ones on our newly conceived website: https://www.moonlightshadow.net . Getting all modern now! 😁
There are at least three current syndicate members active on this Forum, obviously Helen, (YnysMon whose thread we’ve invaded), Warren (Tempest) and me. If you want any additional details or information, please message us.

I remember the days when all we took was a pack of cards and a game of ludo
I remember when there were no tvs,or fridges on the hire boats, you had an ice box and changed the ice block at the nearest boat yard when it started to melt,Southgates always had good ice blocks.

Some yards turn a blind eye to long term stayers, i know a well known yard who even allowed the boat owner to use the yards office address for all his post.

Also doesnt the day boat hire by the cafe next door to the wroxham hotel have moorings for cruisers, or is it all part of the hotel ?
-
Sabena is private moorings only, but wasnt there some talk ages ago mooring in the dyke along side the Wroxham Hotel, where the old house boat is.?Cant remember what the outcome was,and if you tied the ropes onto the parish staithe side, i well be imagining it all though!

Waterside Marine have2, but im not sure about the Freeman ?

Would not be happy but the owners of the yard lived on site so it was never a problem. We did turn up one day and our boat was nowhere to be seen. The owners had moved it to allow dredging, was fearing the worse till he told us

I remember my mum saying that just after the war, they took their ration book with them on holiday whilst boating on the broads, when presenting it to the local shop keepers only to be told" madame we dont bother with any of that here, how much would you like?"Coming from south east London my parents couldnt believe it and were more than pleasantly surprised!

There is one share that may still be available in 'B.A'
I have a mate booked in for a weekend onboard viewing her with a view to securing that share. Due to diary constraints for both of us that is not happening until September. However if that falls through . . . . . . Fancy a woody?
Griff
Hi Griff, yes i knew you had a share available, could you pm the details to me, and let me know what happens in September? Might well be interested, many thanks. Regards Kevin

We are members of a syndicate that uses a management company (Moonlight Shadow). I’m sure this involves additional expenses compared to a self-managed syndicate like Ranworth Breeze. However, we have found that it does have its compensations. It’s really good being able to call on the help and advice of a local agent, especially if you have a problem. It was also very reassuring during the lockdowns that the agent was able to do regular checks of the boat.
I understand where youre coming from, i used to make out of season day trips to the boat just to check her over etc.I would make a day of it,never found it a chore being in Norfolk, used to have lunch at a well known broadland pub, visit Lathams, then home to Kent.

Thanks Alan i will have a look.

I have been very tempted to buy a share in one of the syndicate boats,{had a viewing booked in April for one but it go sold just before we were due to view}
So was wondering if there are any like minded members who like the idea, but forever reason have been put of, would consider starting a new syndicate?
My thoughts are a minimum of 6 berths, low air draft, run by the owners for the owners.{Sold my own boat at the start of covid, so know whats involved} Any body interested PM me, im more than happy to discus ,chat about, use each other as a sounding board. Thanks Kevin

Carried Away By A Moonlight Shadow...

For us it was rhe dates that were available, my grandson is in his first year at primary school and this year and next we have his summer holidays, hopefully in 2024 we will be lucky in the draw or be able to swap. The boat really sells itself, when we viewed her she looked stunning, the move North was a bonus for us,but we were more than happy to explore the South in detail.
