Isn’t the New Inn Horning under new management?

Yes apparently by the same people who run the Malsters at Ranworth. Its a shadow of what it used to be when it was run by Anne the manager. It used to be our favourite broadland pub, we always moored and eat there, and used to go to there quiz nights.Sadly its a shambles, we went in last week, our drinks order was wrong and 2 meals eventually came when only 1 was ordered, the table next to us waited an hour and half for there meal.Dont think it could be worse.

Very true and even with pubs open inside they need more staff for table service. Have to say every pub we've been in the staff have been brilliant

Have you tried the New Inn Horning,? Very poor, such a shame.:27_sunglasses:

I didn't know NYA hired cruisers, you learn something new everyday I guess. I like the look of money penny. But wow at 3.5k for a week in high season il give that a miss,  Nice looking boats though.

The boat is to wide for the Ant and Chet, also to high for some bridges, so nice as the boat is its not for me.

  7. So when i was a young boy, late 50s early 60s my Dab would never have a tv on the boat saying"we havnt come on holiday to watch telly ,you can do that at home". During inclement weather we played cards, board games, when the weather was fine we went out in the dingy, fished, went for a walk, flew a kite.We knew how to enjoy ourselves back in the day !!:default_biggrin:

Hi Griff, ive just watched the film, really great, thanks so much. It must have been a wonderful sight at 50 knots !It was an insight down below, the conditions that my father in law would have been working and living in.I can just imagine him down below placing a mattress against the sides of the boat to plug the holes from enemy fire.       Kevin

Hi Griff, i have just watched Robins film, thanks very much it was great to have that connection. I remember my father in law saying how fast our wooden MTBs were compared to the steel Germans, but we wernt so good in a fire fight, but had the speed to get away.        Kevin

    Welcome Robin.

Aboattime , thank you for the photo of the crew,   just as a matter of interest,  looking at the various ways their caps are positioned on their heads, where should the cap , (hat or whatever) be placed.      I have often wondered this when looking at the Military Police chaps,  some I doubt they can see past the peak of the cap at times it is so low down.

Hi Griff, no  i will look it up, and Hylander yes i know what you mean, at least the crew in the photo can see the German boats coming!

  12. Really liked the piece on the MTB, as over thirty years ago it was moored at Oulton Broad yacht station. My father in law was admiring her as he was on MTBs during the war, out of Lowestoft. When the sea  scouts heard this they invited him on board to look round, it made his holiday!

These are the boats he was on, in the crew photo he is front row second from right.
