  1. Have received a replacement thermocouple I ordered and it arrived with warnings about only being fitted by professional accredited engineers etc.

It basically screws in at the business end with an electrical spade connection at the other. So long as I check that it does indeed stop gas flowing as designed and allows it when hot/alight surely I don't really need to get someone to fit it?ย

it was rated overall at 650wh, which means that it can supply up to 600w for about an hour,

I've been thinking about getting one of these but never being one for quite grasping the technicalities of watts, amps, volts etc. I've hesitated in case I waste money on something that doesn't do what I need.

From the bit I've qouted does this mean I could boil a kettle, use a 2 slice toaster and run a low power microwave oven for a few minutes (not as the same time) Of so, would the device top up enough from solar to do this 2 or 3 times a day.

My boat has not got an inverter, so this could be a good alternative as we don't need heating and we don't have an immersion heater in the calorifier.

Do you have a link to the setup you bought please Peter?

  3. Just north of the Observatory Chris is Anderby Creek, we spent a few days there about 3 or 4 years ago and after visiting spots all over Lincs decided we had accidentally chosen the spot we liked best. The walk down the beach to the observatory was just right for building an appetite for a snack there although fine dining it was not lol

We also decided that Norfolk and Suffolk were much more to our liking ๐Ÿ™‚

My day: Got up took bobo (Boris the Airedale) to the vets for the third week in a row. He has crucial ligament damage to his rear right knee and will require surgery. Left him there for an x ray to rule out anything else. Just the start I needed with two interviews for different posts scheduled this afternoon. One to France and one to New York. Joy of joys โ€ฆ.

Surgery will take place when we are on Silver Jubilee 1 so Fiona may stay behind which is not ideal. Internet in work pod in garden isnโ€™t functioning so back in the house upstairs back bedroom hoping the dogs stay quiet.ย

It never rains but it pours kind of day! Best wishes for Boris' surgery and less stressful days ahead for you!

Does she always sleep with one leg in the air like that? Mine does, and Iโ€™ve never seen another dog do that.ย
She looks a real character. Xx

Yes she does, well in variations of that pose anyway. She is a character you're right but also a bit of a 'princess' if you know what I mean ๐Ÿ˜

Looking at photo 4, Iโ€™m assuming that you get relegated to sleeping on the sofa in the saloon, Ray! ย Danni sure looks at home on the bed!! ๐Ÿ˜

You are not wrong ๐Ÿ˜‚ although, of course, if I make the mistake of looking comfortable then she'll join me wherever I am.... ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜

    Danni's Diner Reviews:-

    Falgate: ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—

First time here, warm welcome and friendly. I suspect Dad of sharing more chip than ham but that is hardly the fault of the establishment! Will definitely visit again.

    The Nelson, Reedham:

๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ— Been here before and more than happy to return anytime. A pub dog is always a good indicator of a warm welcome. Dad had a full rack of ribs which he shared generously (we both overdid it a bit which of course is "a good thing"

    The White Horse, Chedgrave:

๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ— What can I bark that hasn't already been barked? Lovely in every way and I'm pretty sure no one noticed when I threw up.

    Coldham Hall ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—

This was the favourite of the week for me, the staff loved me more than mum & dad do and I wanted to stay with them forever

    The Ferry Inn, Stokesby

    ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—

An old favourite, very friendly and welcoming, good food and what a relief after being stuck on the bยฃ@&#y boat for 6 hours that food was served at 4pm. We stayed the night ๐Ÿ˜

    The Kings Head, Ludham

    ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—

Both staff and other customers worshipped me as one would expect. Good food and although one doesn't carry money (obviously) my staff remarked on the good value.

Some general points a Greyhound really should point out about one's dining out -

    1. I never get to choose the venue ๐Ÿ™„

    2. Mum and dad both tend to drink fizzy beer of foreign origin so I can't begin to review it ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿคฎ

    3. Scraps from mum's plate are usually as small as contractual obligation allow and fall into the category of "You can have this.. if you must" I am currently exploring the possibility of a claim under the "Minimum Scraps Act (2007) as amended (2018) Subsection IV para 13" Which, as you know, specifies that scraps should be of sufficient quantity to taste without actually chewing. Anyway, the ball's in her court... although I will of course fetch it all day long.

  8. Blimey, just across the river, close enough for you to have seen/heard my fairly dreadful stern mooring! lol

.... what a shame though, we'll get to share that pint (or two) eventually ๐Ÿบ

  9. For the first time in many years we stopped here for lunch and a few pints.

It was really lovely, good food and the staff were great, very nice and welcoming. Can highly recommend a visit here, we will certainly be back.

Danni dog has also awarded the coveted 5 Bone rating! ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—

  10. My engine has only done 30 hours since it's last service in October, which is not a lot but it includes the winter months.

I just did a quick oil level check with the dipstick and the oil is so clean that at first I thought it was too low to be registering.

I'm not complaining but I have never seen such clean oil on a dipstick and I've naturally done many many oil level checks over the years.

So, just checking in with more knowledgeable members that this isn't a sign of an underlying problem despite being a good thing on the face of it?

Nanni 50 1995 (not re-engined at any time as far as I know)
