  1. Hi Is shore power still connected and live you mentioned fitting winch was the shore power turned off? Suggest you switch battery charger on for 24hrs then disconnect the battery's for 24hrs then check voltages or gravity. John

  2. Hi Maddi If you travel down the Bure in direction of Yarmouth DONT go further than Stoksby nice wide river until then there's a pub here also a pub at Acle bridge, there's three pubs in Horning plus two restaurants. Then along the Thurne there is a pub down a dyke at the end, a windmill is on the corner of the dyke, then on to Potter Heigham fish and chip shop  a pub and restaurant, Ranworth Broad has a shop and pub, It might be advisable to miss out Ludham bridge. Womack water has a village with shops and a pub walk up the lane then turn left at main road up to village, this should be enough as you only have two nights and three days. Enjoy. John

  3. Hi Kpnut I think you will find the outside aerial tv socket connects to the inside one, you plug tv aerial into the outside one and tv into inside one, A Ballard Aerial is the size of a toffee apple and is omni directional so doesn't need swinging to the transmitter and dosn't get blown of direction by the wind or boat swinging when on a mud weight. 4. If you dont want to pay moor until they come for the money probably sixish then cast of and mud weight then if desperate for pub come back when staff have gone home. ditto at Reedham there's the Ferry or free moorings at corner of Chet and Berny arms stretch. John

  5. Hi Adam I went to Tollsbury, it's near Colchester to fetch mine they had every thing I needed plus advice on fitting, It's very heavy so would be expensive to post and if you went for mat it is rolled up like carpets are so edges could be damaged in transit. John

  6. Hi Adam I to have Wilks Tec decking both strip and mat 12 years old now no problems still looks good moored outside all year round. If you do use it only use their adhesive's and do it in the warm weather, and leave the decking sheets in the sun to warm up before sticking down, you will need a weighted roller to squash it down tight to make a good seal you cant move it once it's down. Very pleased with it, one of the better buys i have bought. John

  7. Hi The best solution for all (Except the person paying) would be to demolish it then rebuild it on modern foundations exactly as it is, BUT! with a higher arch clearance. I am not holding my breath on this solution as the person paying would have no benefit from this. John

  8. Hi Griff unlikely to be the calliper's to test calliper's stab brake pedal at 20mph if van pulls up even calliper's ok if not they would pull to one side. the side that is ok.  more likely to be pads rusted/sticking in housing,  file the runners and new pads on the edges, grease the touching faces with copper slip on reassembly, then drive up the road at 20mph pressing the brake pedal several times to bed the new pads in to the old discs, to attain a good pedal pressure. John

  9. Hi Micky I would suggest you make a wiring diagram listing all items etc this will come in handy if you get a problem or you add to to the boat in the future plus it will help any body you sell the boat to too work out what's what, i have a folder on my boat listing EVERTHING including where it is located on board along with a loading list of all items on board. 10. Hi Mouldy if you had purchased propriety pads the clips come in the box as you should change them when new pads are fitted.  The cost of the key is not just the key it has to be swiped by the main agent with a hand held devise in the car to prevent cloning by undesirables. John

  11. Hi Griff Be aware that there are four different gearbox oils you tell the difference by the colour patch adjacent to the level plug on side of gear box, Green, Red ,Yellow and Blue if memory is correct.one of them you can only get in a twenty five Lt can, was £385=00 plus vat back in 90's BUT! never came across that colour so you should be ok. Nice cars had a couple of customers that had them. John

  12. Hi Cheesey I had the impression that you had no weed filter, as you have have thought that if you turn of the hull fitting then remove filter top pore in a mixture of antifreeze with engine running (a length of hose with a funnel pushed in the end) 1/2  gallon should be enough then when no water is coming from the exhaust switch of then pore a neat mixture in weed housing this will percolate down the hoses. difficult to advise when unable to see your installation so just a idea that might work for you. 13. Hi Floyd It all depends what type of driving you do when fords first bought out the escort it had a replacement belt millage of 50,000 but many vans that where used for town deliveries had belts break before this millage, they soon bought the millage down to 36,000. these days with computers that can measure the amount of revelation's so millage is not a problem but they now also add a yearly count to catch the very low millage users. my Honda was 100,000 miles or ten years. I now have a chain driven camshaft Honda no mileage to worry about, if tensioner wears you get a noise to warn you , But regular oil changes each year regardless of millage prevents wear. Cam belts have replaced exhausts as a good earner for the trade. John

  14. Hi Micky This is my choice plus two alternators one of 60 amp and one of 180 amps along with a combined intelligent charger that combines both to charge domestic bank and or engine battery. Ideally you need a bank to last two days with a max load ie heating, fridge, toilet and water pump. Having two banks of two rather than just one bank of four just flogs one bank rather than spread the load over all .this could mean you have to change your battery's more frequently and there for more cost. As with most things there is a cost involved for the best system. Plus adding a solar panel helps no end in maintaining the battery's charge there for adding to there longevity and less cost overall. John PS photos should have come last finger trouble along with no grand son available. John
