I'll look out for that house when I'm next there.

Do, it's a lovely house but quite hard to imagine as a pub now. I will try and find that photo, give you all a laugh :default_icon_cool:

Norfolk Nogs visit lifts my spirits . Like a snowdrop. Heralds spring. Still a way to go. However once he leaves it gives us the fortitude to carry on during  the somewhat stingy months which await. Then and only then, summer arrives.

Thanks for that.  How long ago did it shut?  Thanks  :default_beerchug:

Think it was about 40 years ago, certainly 70's when I went in. I was very young of course :default_biggrin:

Was the Eagle between the staithe and White Horse?

Certainly was, cracking little pub. I've got a photo of me propped up outside, I might post it sometime if I can find it.

Hello Mr and Mrs Howard,  you little devils you certainly snuck in and I missed you arriving.      Gosh doesn't seem long ago we were reading all about your exciting exploits.       I was just looking at Herby Woods web cam and happened to see folk getting on their boats, one guy in wait for it ,  T-shirt and shorts.   Have I missed something, we have the heating going full blast.      I know in some areas it is half term and the ankle biters will be out in their droves.  :default_gbxhmm:        Have a lovely time and got to ask how long are you here for this time?

Thanks M, yes, think Woods and Richardsons have a few out as half term is early this year. Few ankle biters about. I'm not sure I could do shorts and T shirt but it's certainly very warm for the time of year. We are here until 19th and hopefully be heading your direction (ish) mid week

  7. Aw, thanks Kate, here with you in spirit at least! Hope the paint job doesn't take too long and you'll be afloat again soon. Back with Bridgecraft again in May so I'm sure you'll be up and about by then :default_beerchug:

  8. Good comments re the cash and very fair points . I'm probably old school and do cash with everything but need to move with the times!

The Swan gets the gold award for not closing early, busy too, very impressed :1311_thumbsup_tone2:

  9. It is a shame MM, feels like back to where we were in December. Thanks goodness for low air draught Alphacrafts!

Booted out of the New Inn, luckily Swan still open.

And yes, CC, London Pride well tended, apart from the froth :default_norty:

Have a good week. From Mrs ‘Green’ !!!!

I noticed the level at Acle looked high on Tuesday, even before all this rain over the past couple of days and before it was reported the levels had risen earlier in the week (I’d put that rise down to high tides).

Ah, take it from the 'green' you're not afloat KP :default_crying1animated:

Could have bought you a pint too :default_biggrin:

    When are you back?

The London. Pride was excellent last weekend in the Swan

It was very well kept I have to say. I think the Swan is the best pub in Horning by some distance. Called time in New Inn (surprise, surprise) so back to the Swan :default_biggrin:

  12. Ferry accessible by foot - only just! The lane has numerous deep puddles but can be skirted with care. New Inn not kicked us out - yet....

Also using sparklers, baffled, had to ask for a top up, unheard of in Norfolk :default_biggrin:

Just hope that gets passed promptly. There used to be another ATM within feet of the location, so there's not really any excuse not to just rubber stamp it.

There was, just around the corner, an HSBC if memory serves? Not sure the Nat West didn't have one too. Assume the one in the convenience store is free to use?

  14. Absolutely, we should give them every support we can :default_beerchug:

That's another must visit on my list.

Mrs Nog's gin bill should pay the chefs wages for a while :default_norty:
