It's on the Thames though. Cost a bit to transport it assuming you could lift at that end. Looks a good price though unless there's something wrong with it.

The buses from Acle village run every half hour. About a half hour walk from Acle Bridge. Footpath a bit muddy in winter (been there etc)

Absolutely, we should give them every support we can
That's another must visit on my list.
Mrs Nog's gin bill should pay the chefs wages for a while

Yet another email from Hoseasons today. I don't seem to remember this amount in previous years.

No info on the New Inn at Rockland. ?
I would be interested to know too. We'll be down shortly so will do some investgating. I also intend to check out the Ram and we need to keep an eye on the Maltsters too. And there's the Ship at South Walsham......
Use 'em or lose 'em!

Fair comment MT and as this thread started about the Ram perhaps discussion about the Waters Edge under it's new owners might prompt a new thread

Sounds like I should stick to the Ferry House.
I've never eaten at Coldham Hall - any feedback from there?
Not much wrong with the Ferry House.
The beer quality at Coldham Hall is outstanding in my humble opinion. Not tried the grub unfortunately but if it's half as good as the beer it will be excellent

Ha ha ... actually there's a very nice Shadow 26 for sale at NYA as well. If I had a spare £50k it might well be the one for me.
Just had a browse on the NYA website. The Shadow boats are outstanding quality builds, there is one moored at Swancraft now which is a very recent build, stunning boat. Just not so keen on the canopy and the slightly higher air draught. Those ex Faircraft Loynes ones look to be twins of the Evening Lights, I bet they were all built as a batch. Either way, just need those numbers!
One can dream Maybe need to persuade Mrs Nog to drink singles......

Ha ha! Yes, I intend to give the local pubs my fullest support Simon and will of course report back!
And I'm sure that Mrs Nog will be sampling a few large gins too
No, all being well we will be aboard Humber Bridge again from the excellent Bridgecraft. Great winter boat, really cosy. Watch this space.......

Going back 30 years Hoseasons were certainly very customer orientated as can be seen in their trade newsletter.

Not yet, has it reopened then?
Ha ha!!! I can see that in the interest of research I will have to check out the Ram personally.
We're back shortly, so I'll make a priority of paying it a visit. I've been in many times over the years but I think of late with Covid and changes of management its not really had a lot of stability. The White Heron could do with some competition anyway

Anyone tried the Ram yet?

You've got to love this forum, a thread about The Ram at Brundall and most of the posts are about The Ferry Surlingham and The Waters Edge Bramerton.

Couldn't agree more

Very fair point

p.s. I like upmarket if it’s welcoming to all.
We moored up to empty moorings, the guy was out like a rat out of a trap, gave us a load of verbal, we never got a word in edgeways, he shouldn't be in the hospitality industry IMHO

Good intersting posts
When we turned up the moorings were empty.
This guy has/or had attitude, maybe need to be a gin palace or a brand new boat. Agree with Malcolm, Ferry House, what's not to like.

Good news about the Waters Edge
The only pub I've ever been thrown out from before I even got in!!
We had sommat similar, got berthed alongside for an impromptu visit, got asked to leave before we got ashore!
Never been back since
Griff
Yep! Exactly the same! I got the impression he didn't like hire boats, maybe he just liked customers to arrive in a Merc or BMW!!!

I seem to be getting a lot of emails from Hoseasons with various offers at the moment, almost every day.
I wonder if bookings are a bit slow?
I always book direct with Bridgecraft (as I did with Swancraft) so never really have any dealings with them. Just wondered.

Springs every time for me. I tend to use them most of the time anyway, for the little extra time it takes it's well worth it IMHO. Keeps you snug overnight if the wind gets up and you don't have to worry about adjusting for the tide.

Three weeks estimate now to carry out works but not including the return trip I assume
