  1. If the sun shines then private boaters will be out as well hirers, if its not so good whether wise it will be lot quieter. but I hope the weather is good for your trip.

It should be fine, many of the private boat owners will be at the meet at Oulton Broad. ;)

I am sure you will have a great time autoteach, if you are on the southern rivers around Oulton Broad over Easter, pop in and say hello.

  2. Thank's for the kind comments. It is always a challenge and very daunting building up a new business in a new area, although I have been very lucky so far with most of my work coming from recommendation.

I have always tried to support the forum financially when at all possible and thought this sponsored link would help the forum and provide some extra exposure for my business. Win Win!!

The best thing for me is, I now live and work in the best part of the country, "The Norfolk Broads".

  4. Where at Oulton Broad can we Park our Cars ?

Will there be a base camp near the waters edge ?

Where are you Parking the Boats ? :Stinky:Sailing

Hi Brian, all the boats will be in the OBYS, you will be more than welcome to leave any belongings on our boat. We will most probably set up on the quay heading outside the Harbour Masters office. There is a car park behind the office, it is a pay and display, about £4.00 per day.

Did you have any luck finding the top for the white gazebo, it would be great if we could set that up nearby. If so i could drive over and pick it up.

  5. It is very rare I have to use a directory enquiry service but had need to a couple of weeks ago. As it turned out they couldn't help with the number I needed. What has shocked me is the cost now I've got my itemised phone bill. The call was probably no more than 3 minutes but has come in at £6.16!!! :o

That's the last time I use that service!

    :o:o:o

How can they justify them charges.

  6. This is great news that Tesco's have been knocked back at Brundall although as with many towns and villages I am sure this will be short lived. From my understanding when Tesco's plan to build a new store it takes on average three attempts to gain planning permission due to anti Tesco campaigners and Councils trying to save face with the locals. The unfortunate thing is, Tesco's are so powerful, in most cases their lawyers always find a way to convince the councils it will be good for the community and plans go ahead.

I always get so frustrated when I see these giants open these stores and small businesses fold around them, but in reality the rates they pay against the small businesses and the employment they bring in, it makes if very difficult for the council to decline.

The only way forward to prevent them expanding is for the general public to stop using them. Unfortunately, that will not happen. two guns

  7. Hi Chris

A big welcome from me too!

After spending 5 years boating on the northern river's we now tend to stay south and really enjoy the piece and tranquility it can offer. Don't get me wrong, we absolutely love the northern rivers although after 5 years, just fancied a change.

  8. We have seen the seal at Reedham on numerous occasions. Quite a shock when you first see one!

When we were selling HJ2 a couple of years ago, we pulled out of Reedham Marina on a river trial with a potential purchaser and instantly see the seal playing in front of us, well, that was HJ2 sold then. :)

    cheersbar
