The same thing happened with Moonlight Shadow a few years back. BCBM organised the survey, can't remember who did it off hand though, sorry.

It certainly is.
We in the Lightning syndicate also have the same policy re cleaning. If an owner wishes to use a valeting service, they can, but we (Karen and me) have never used it, and so far, we`ve always been complimented on how clean we leave Lightning, though this September, she was very grubby around the water line, something we can`t do unless we had a dinghy, which we don`t have. I have also noticed how clean Moonlight Shadow looks on the outside, her white and blue livery really stands out
Hi. We have a soft extending brush we use on the caravan which we used to bring with us, worked a treat.
-
Unless things have changed, the exterior cleaning of Shadow has always been the owners responsibility.

Retread of this just finished on Drama, absolutely hilarious episode on Contessa 2 at Benson Cruisers on the Thames. Haven't laughed so much for ages.

Hello Alan. I don't know why Shadow hadn't gone this route. Perhaps the current owners ought to bring it up? Jay, as Chairman, perhaps could get them to discuss. Sue

Hi. We bought our life jackets from the chandlery at Wroxham. They are self inflating, and have recently been rearmed. They were bought when we bought into MS on 2011. After 7 years enjoyment sold our shares last year. Sue
PS, we retrofitted a crotch strap on one of them after watching a similar video as mentioned.

Hi. As a South of the M4 wimp, I also had (still have somewhere) an electric under blanket when on board Shadow. Only trouble was, the one we had was not happy working on the inverter, only on 240v. Sue

Good luck. I remember our first trip in 2011. Such excitement. Sue

Hi Peter you beat me to it, floating film onto the inside of the glass is probably the cheapest way forward. The film would also add some security if the windows broke, preventing glass flying all over the place.

Alan
Absolutely, a few years back, on one of our trips, we had put non see thru film on the stern shower window in Moonlight Shadow. A few weeks later another partner reported the window had broken but hardly any glass had fallen inside.

Hi Carole,
We were glad to leave Ferry Marina which we used to moor at, we have far better facilities at Brundall IMHO.
Regards
Alan
I remember when we had our share in Breeze. We found getting to Ferry Marina a real pain, parking was awkward and we were moored next door to a metal 'bomber' with a pointy beam with a large anchor attached. Getting in and out was really tight. We sold up in 2005.
Getting back into syndicate ownership on Moonlight Shadow in 2011 we found Brundall far easier to get to. We sold up a second time in 2018!

Have just finished reading Broadland 'A Chilling Norfolk Broads Crime Thriller'.
Thought it was a bit tame to start with, how wrong I was!
Am leaving it a while to read 'St Benets' and have book 3 on pre-order. (Kindle, although other E-Readers are available!)

Our gripe about these is their location. Generally they appear to always be in the only place where there is any shade. As someone who regularly visits other areas and 99% of the time with a dog in the car seeing these (usually empty) is like a red rag to a bull.

So how many shares for sale now? 3.5?

What the hell is an Allegro, Montenogo or an Ambassador???
The Allegro, apparently was thought to be one of the worst cars Austin ever built. The Ambassador was another one of theirs, ditto the Montenegro I think. Such a young sprog you are Jay!

Bring back National Service!
We did 34 years between us (Army and Wraf) and as you say was all to the good. Plus we got a pension each out of it!

Saturday 13th April
As I finished my last night shift at 0800 hours on the 13th April, it was finally time to once again head home to collect the crew and our belongings and by 0845 we were once again on our way to Brundall to take the boat out for another week of enjoyment.
A slow car journey finally terminated at Brooms boatyard at around 1130.
A slow journey? Less than 3 hours, I'm envious,. The very earliest we ever got there was 1530, so no relaxing pub trip for us.
Rosie was pretty bomb proof, but we have just added a 7.5 month old juvenile delinquent to the mix which would have been fun (not!)

Whilst I am no longer part of the boating fraternity having sold my shares in MS. I can see that renewing at anytime during the year and only paying for part of the year depending on when you buy your boat could be very popular.

Different to the west. Swage of rain overhead. Looks like going to be getting wet most of the day. Still at least my potplants are getting watered!

I often fly passengers here (they have to put up with my accent).
Either flying the DG-1000S or the ASK-21 (which we normally use for training).I've only seen close-up side-by-side gliders in the UK (Capstan or T-21). Never flown in one.
Presumably your colleague owns a single-seater (as do I) but would be able to organise a ride in the club's 2-seater.
As for your wife being scared - often families come to our airfield asking if its at all possible to have a flight (it almost always is). When we ask who wants to fly they point to the kids, the man but the woman usually says "not me". When the rest of the family come back with an ear-to-ear grin sometimes the woman will give it a try - and is walking on air for the weeks to follow.
Many happy hours in the back of the ASK21 and K13 ( a predessor). Always P2 (never got solo, never really had the inclination to be honest!).
Have also flown in the T21, open cockpit side by side - good fun albeit a bit breezy and a Slingsby T61.
An interesting one was the Bijave a French two seater glider that you needed a crane to get into the back!
Carrying on 'bragging rights' have also been airborne in two metal gliders the Blanik an IS something or other - forgot the number.

Christmas day afternoon, snug and warm in the caravan. Just finished the washing up. All tidied up ready for Strictly Christmas Special.
Day started with Rosie scratching the side of the bed demanding 'widdles' and breakfast, not necessarily in that order. I'm sure she thinks she is a cat! Quick walk, back for breakfast and chores. Two showers and the aquaroll is empty and the waste master full. Oh, and the loo won't empty itself.
I never thought to say it, but then went on line and ordered our Christmas present to ourselves for delivery on 040119. Apparently an awful lot of items are ordered on line on Christmas Day.
Hope everyone enjoyed their day. Best wishes.

Chin up and stay strong.
John.
So apt.
Such a lovely poem. I see that Tan was three months younger than me. Just goes to show that life is cruel and we all must live the best we can enjoying everything and not being negative.
As John says. Keep strong.
Much love.

Yes I noticed that. All of a sudden. There are two up for grabs on Silver Cloud which is virtually unheard of.
