Last time we were there I thought the cafe had a no mooring sign up.
It was so busy though, perhaps I got confused!

Hope the link works. We had something like this a few years ago when we owned a 21 foot cruiser on the Kennet and Avon canal. Worked fairly well not overly hot.
In a previous caravan we had a 12v kettle for warm water, but as previously mentioned it did take rather a long time to work!

Neither do we.
A quick trip to Norwich and Whitlingham is fine unless we are on for a fortnight. S

We always use propane (the light weight ones) in the caravan as use the can all year.
Propane works in cold conditions. We haven't had it freeze on us yet in over 35 years of caravanning.

Triumph Heralds appear to have been a popular driving instructors car. I learned in one of them and passed my test on the 2nd attempt on American Independence Day 1975. Can't remember how much it cost tho.
Funny how small and old fashioned the Herald seems now!

Yes I have logged on a few times. There is just a time lag between making your selection and anything happening, which is a bit disconcerting!

I know...maybe we're hoping all the mods are away at the meet. You know what they say...when the cat's away...
Lovely to meet you the other week Sue. (Hope I've got the right Sue?)

Me being a bit dense, but what has all this got to do with Irstead Staithe?
We do tend to go off into some most odd tangents!!!

Good spectator sport at moment lots of milling about. Quite a few going put on trial runs.
Coming in and out of yard, bottle neck and general mayhem!

We are on board at the moment. Going back 5th May. Perhaps you would like to meet and compare/contrast.
Same hull, slightly different specification.

Yep looks better from Thursday onwards. Nice at the moment heading towards Acle. Interesting hail storm about 0800 though.

Very similar approach to usage as myself. One question to which I do not know the answer which folk on here may know....
The grumpy chap at the shop at Ranworth strongly advised me that "whatever you do dont unplug your lead then plug it back in again as it will zero the meter". I was tempted to try this just to see, but didnt for obvious reasons! So if this is true (which my head tells me it cant be!) then be kind and offering to share becomes costly. Do we know if the 'unplug and your moneys gone' is true?
Hi I unplugged at Stokesby yesterday to sort out our cable and didn't lose anything.
Regarding tripping out the posts
Just a little commonsense.
Years ago on many caravan sites we only had a 5a supply. Soon got used to only having one leccy item on at a time and buying lower wattage kettles/toasters.
We bring our own 1kW kettle with us. It will also run off our 2kW inverter.

Last evening both ourselves and Neil (speedtriple) were moored at Loddon, it was our first time to try out the new posts, I had used the card, each meter has a card reader about it.
I showed Neil how to use the card on socket number 2 I showed him the credit had been credited on his meter.
Now for the flaw in the design of the posts, I let the card slip and it fell through a gap in front of all the meters and readers to disappear into the base of the post. Could this be the way the Broads Authority have sorted out the recycling of the cards
Regards
Alan
Funny the same thing happened to us at Stokesby today! Card disappeared down into the depths. Still at least it gave us it's £1 before it vanished.

I walked in and said "can I exchange my old cards for the new cards?". She said "yes" and we exchanged.
Simples!!
I posted mine to the BA on Monday. It will be interesting to see if they come back before our next trip up there on 22nd.

And the first thing I thought of was Martin's RC model Catalina. Affectionately called 'big Cat'

I agree. Last time we were there (April) there was a reserved mooring sign up for a boat due to arrive about mid-day.
Come about 19:00 they still hadn't arrived with people milling around looking for spaces.
Not the pubs fault, just very rude of the people on the boat concerned. The least they could have done was phone through to cancel.
