johnb
Hi folks, previously I was able to scan items on our epson printer into our laptop by using "My Pictures"-"Get picture from scanner". I cannot find this feature on windows 10-can anyone advise please? Not really computer savvy so simple language would be helpful. Thank you. ExUserGone
If it's anything like office they dropped a lot of scanner functionality and made you rely on the software provided by the manufacturer.
johnb
Thanks 'er onboard knows about these things and has found it through something on the display screen to do with the printer-and that's about as much as I understand! Regulo
No problems here. Used the Scan app and it found my Canon pixma all-in-one MG3250, and scans in perfectly.
johnb
Thanks Ray, I understand the first and last bits of you post-never go to grips with Apps! I claim the title of forum IT idiot and challenge anyone to beat me!!
Regulo
The Scan app is a standard Win 10 app (program). It's there somewhere! I have a full list of all available apps up the left side of my screen when I hit the Windows button.
Jonathan
Johnb, As Ray said, or tap the Windows key (or click on the Windows icon in the bottom-left) then type "scan" (without the quotes) and you will see "Windows Fax and Scan". On my PC I have HP software installed so the first choice I get is "HP Scan" (see screen capture) but "Windows Fax and Scan". is a few lines down. click on that, then "Scan" in the bottom-left corner (1), "New Scan" in the top-left (2), select a scanner, if you have more than one (3) and (4)
Jonathan
Generally speaking, with windows 10, if you tap the windows key (of click the icon) then type what you want to do, it will offer you a few options from which you may choose. If that doesn't get you what you want then type in another word or phrase.
