orion1210
Hi all, We've just had our new to us first boat dropped into the broads and are loving it so far. Currently on a short toll whilst we get it up to BSS spec, the only substantial finding being that the AD41b Volvo Penta fuel supply and return hoses aren't marked with the required specification and the boat's hoses are of the wrong spec. I can have the boat's hoses fabricated easily enough but the Volvo Penta hoses are proving difficult, particually the return line as it has a unique banjo fitting with an additional threaded fitting on it. So I fear I have to cough up for genuine VP part... that said they are still not marked with specification as far as I can tell. Can anybody offer any advice from their experience on the matter or know where I might be able to source the strange banjo fitting? Thanks in advance
NeilB
Let me know the correct item and I'll have a look. If it's number 60 though it's no longer stocked.
orion1210
Hi Neil, thank you. I’m looking for two each of item 60 & 61.
NeilB
Ok, item 60 is no longer stocked although the ferrules are still available, p/n is 860028. Item 61 is available and in stock, approx. £80 retail price, p/n 845646 They are not marked with the BSS spec number but are marine type approved for Lloyds etc, however they are so old I cannot find the certificate. If there is nothing obviously wrong with them I'd call the BSS office and explain they are original equipment fitted to every AD41B and see what they say. It may be possible to carefully cut the old hose off the fittings and have someone crimp the BSS spec hose onto them.
Poppy
I encountered tis problem. Peachments were able to change the hoses for the correctly marked type using my own banjos - and cheaper than the VP ones which still aren't marked correctly for BSS !
