addicted
We spent the weekend on the boat for the 2nd time, arriving at the marina at about 1.30pm Saturday having had our 4th covid jabs before we started out. No ill effects I'm happy to say. We are still doing jobs so have yet to go out on her. We had a very odd occurence. One of the last jobs to get done was to set up the T.V. It wasn't a priority. The aeriel system already there was a bit of a Heath Robinson affair involving several steel poles attached to brackets in the cockpit and requiring the removal of the canopy to be deployed. Not ideal. Having spoken to a friend of our who has the identical boat to us and who used to moor adjacent to us at Brundall Bay we ascertained he had a Ballade aeriel fitted to his boat which was fitted to a holder that attached to the grab rail on the roof and had a ratchet handle that enables it to be folded down when airdraft is an issue. This is exactly what we wanted and Tony bought one of these and set it all up. The T.V. simply wouldn't tune. He tested it to make sure that there was power where it needed to be and various connotations were tried all to no avail and after several hours of this Tony practically had steam coming out of his ears. Puzzled at the position of the aeriel socket in the cockpit he decided to investigate the contents of a cupboard adjacent to the socket and getting his head and shoulders in the cupboard found a collection of cables and another aeriel booster which had wisps of smoke coming out of it! He disconnected all this stuff and thus bypassed it and lo and behold the t.v. worked. We've found one or two strange things but this was the oddest. Lulu
Our strangest thing…. so far …was removing a small useless handle to find a vast collection of washers connected to it.
grendel
theres a simple explanation for that, the bolt was too long and bottomed out in the handle, obviously they didnt have a hacksaw either.
