This is probably me being a bit thick but when I post or reply (as now) the smilies and all the font info etc at the top of the reply panel is greyed out. Am I doing something wrong????

PS the enable emoticons box is ticked

Thanks for that - just had to check with Mrs Nog!! We are on Windows XP and Internet Explorer 8 (probably a bit steam driven)

This sometimes happens with me, Howard. Click on the top left-hand button (on the LHS of the rubber) and all is revealed (on my machine, anyway!).

It works!! just clicked on the button as John suggested and hey presto!  I'll have a word with Mrs Nog about the Firefox as she's our resident techie

I haven't had the time to really test this one, but that sounds like one workaround.

 

One thing that did come out of our original testing was that there were a number of things that didn't work too well in XP / IE8. Our preferred solution was that people download and install Firefox http://www.firefox.com as an alternative to IE, as it's a lot newer and supports some of the cleverer features of the forum software.

I work IE10/Windows7 and don't have probs, John
