I was never really a fan of Lou Reed, as i always thought he, like a lot of others, was very overated. I think there were a lot of people who claimed to be a fan of his, but when you look in their record collection, there was NOTHING by Lou Reed, as they wanted to sound "cool" and "with it", but in reality, they preferred the more mainstream artists.

 

Still very sad news for those that WERE true fans though, and i`m sure they will miss him and his style of music.

When we were down to the Broads in September I was speaking to a guy at the bar in the  Yare about the 70's and bands from that era.

 

He was very excited because he was going to see Lou Reed that week.

 

As you say sad news for his fans.
