Polly Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I was doing a Face Time thingy with small grandson; he was toting the current treasure, which was a flashcard picture of a saily. 'Boat' says I all helpfully, 'Yacht' corrected my daughter, and there on the reverse, was the word in question. I started to wonder...I never refer to Briiliant as a yacht, I call her a 'boat', 'sailing boat', or 'sailing cruiser'; why is that? Why have I never heard anyone else on the Broads talk about yachts either? Quote
Hockham Admiral Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Polly, hi. Wikipedia give as good a definition as I've seen:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yacht Quote
Polly Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Ahhh thanks! Brilliant is 9ft short of being a yacht then, as are most of them on the Broads; and of course, on reflecton, there are Wherry Yachts lurking about. ⛵️ Quote
