  1. Gawd Simon don't you go losing interest we rely on you to get us out at some ungodly hour, just have a break and come back fighting fit again
  2. Seems feasable Paul, as usual a mine of information
  3. Wishing you all a very Happy new year. I was just looking through some of the pics I had not posted and noticed this mill one. I wondered if any of the expert mill peeps out there could tell me what the spikey wheel was for, it seems to be held up by the wooden structure on the right but for what purpose was it? I also noticed the trouble they used to go through with their carpentry, the round spar on the right has been split down to a ferrel and then twisted and fixed to the frame above, I would have thought a bit of 4x2 and a few 4" nails would have done the job Colin PS double click to get better view
  4. Have a look at this lot Jill, just pick out the bits that might help Colin http://digital-photography-school.com/b ... mJa9VLkfGf
  5. Hi Mark, You may remember I lost my photo files a couple of months ago but I managed to get some back using a recovery programme but most of the RAW files were currupted as you describe, I posted a question on the recovery website but never did get an answer, Colin
  6. I'm in as usual Mark and it would be good to have a couple of our other experts on board so that you don't have us all on your back at once. Colin
  7. Jill, piccy looks fine but depends on what you wanted to achieve, if you wanted everything to be in focus look at depth of field i.e aperture settings and if you didn't want the shadows in the background, either move the subject away from the wall or use some fill in flash but I'm sure there will be some more profesional advise on here soon but keep on practicing believe me I know !!! newf
  8. I'm soooooooooooo envious Jill, have fun newf
  9. I know how you feel but as Bruce pointed out to me Lightroom is meant for the profesional photographer and as such seems and is complicated and needs a lot of practice and attention. Sorry I cant help Colin
  10. Jonny there are also tutorials here http://tv.adobe.com/#vi+f1512v1398 and here www.thedigitalphotographyconnection.com/LFDP.php but I cant remember anything on the project you are trying to do but may be useful for future ref. Colin
  11. www.lightroomforums.net/index.php Jonny sorry cant help on that one not been useing it long enough, the only person on here that could probably help is Bruce but try the forums above first , someone usually helps colin
  12. Hi Jonny, it was to early for any other idiots to be about
  13. Here we go then............ some shots could have done with a sunrise but it didn't happen and I decided not to cheat and put one in !!
  14. Hello to everyone and I thoroughly endorse your thanks to Bruce and Simon Paul. Indeed it was a good turnout and one intrepid member even started out at 4.30 am from Linconshire to be with us ( hope he found it worthwhile). My apologies for not attending the draw afterwards but I had a rather poorly pooch at home and I didn't want to keep her waiting, as it happends I did have a present on the carpet when I got in, something she has never done before !! I'm now going to sort a couple of pics out to post , the only drawback to having 8-10 peeps taking piccies is that approx. 75% of the shots are nearly the same and if we all post them all everyone would get soooooooooo bored, except Bruce's pics of course as they are always special. It was good to meet some new faces and of course the 'old' ones as well, bring on the next one over to you Paul Colin
  15. Got the pm bruce thanks, I dont have a problem getting up but walking the dogs at 6am before I leave maybe a bit trying, hi-viz coat ect. If I dont make it to the early one I shall be there for breky Colin
  16. Not to sure but I have an idea Paul may have a puddle jumper Bruce
  17. My old volvo est. doesn't mind a bit of mud and a few potholes and it doesn't have any say in the matter over our boat yard !!! Newf
