Hi Ian
I meant to also say Ipswich waterfront is lovely and has some great restaurants having eaten in a couple of them already.
-
Hi Ian
Would love to go but have already allocated my holidays for this year. Nice run down and Ipswich is worth a visit. We know duh!
Has anyone been on one of these before or know anyone who has?
-
The final picture looks like she is far too big and wide for the broads, bearing in mind the amount of traffic you are putting on them
Rather relieved that most of them stay ooop north
Fantastic thread, thanks Clive.
-
That would be great Perry, thanks. I imagine that is where they are intending to moor us.
We are seriously considering it as we are unable to get out in the summer when the SB's do. Would be good to see some other forumites going along as well.

Is anyone thinking of going? We are considering it, it is one of the few weekends that Adam doesn't have a wedding booking.
-
Probably, completely wrong but they look like they would put furrows for seeds into the ground. It also looks to me like a man and a woman, rather than two men.
Love this thread Carol, please keep going. Another who loved medieval history and pre-1900's and got completely turned off in later seniors.

Hi Carol
Lovely to see.
-
You must breathe heavier than Adam, cos our windows didn't get too steamy at all...
-
Thanks everyone.
This weekend was a big relief for both of us. We had such a bad time with Jupiter on several occasions and, it nearly put us off completely. We started deliberating towards the end of last season as to which way to go. Whether to give up on the idea of seagoing and go for a broads cruiser or go slightly bigger and see what the difference was. Finally deciding to try bigger before giving up; this weekend has gone a long way to restore our confidence. Whereas, before we just couldn't get her to stay level and therefore spent too much time messing with the trims and legs, Sea Hunter just did what it says on the packet, as she should. Phew!!!!
Jonny - sorry we were concentrating on steering rather than photographing. We hope someone will get a decent shot of us at Easter.
-
7 weeks to go
If we are coming back to OBYS on the Sunday, are we booking in again for the night or all doing our own thing?
-
Hi Trev
We met your friend Bob yesterday, lovely chap. Hopefully, he is going to come on the forum and come along at Easter.
-
I think this is a great idea and opportunity for us all. Thank you John.
I suppose the real question is in terms of when it shoud be scheduled... before or after the salty side jaunt.....
So, thoughts please.....
-
ok guys, no comments about this post please
Lou xx
You expected no comments I love it
Adam and Suzanne's boat was HUGE. It had a cabin where the fly bridge is, a monster front cabin and side cabin and an even HUGER cellar type cabin underneath??, I kept waking round it saying "the one we looked at wasn't as big as this, must've have been because it was an older model?" over and over again.
Lou xx
HUGE ; just a fraction bigger...... OK enough to have cellar, patio and sun deck
I'd better place the lobster order then , Leroy Bling, looks like the drinks are on you though
We are really looking forward to it too, mostly for the spending the weekend with people we enjoy spending time with.
If the weather is decent, maybe those men who received Cobbs for Christmas could test them out on Mark's Lobster???
-
Only 8 weeks until Easter Sunday
-
Ian and all hi!
Sure, I will bring along my eos1d mk111 and take some snaps, but do you really want mark and I to be faffing around worrying about our aperture settings and ISO and shutter speeds at 28 knots??? Not least, as I will no doubt be helming from the 2nd floor and have not found my balance yet!
Adam...aka "leroy bling" and suzanne ("blingette") : : :
How dare you, no privileges or food for 7 days....... although I will continue to speak
-
Oh goodie, this will be interesting.
Great idea and look forward to seeing the transformation.
-
Hi Mark
I have absolutely no expertise to add to this interesting thread!
My only thought would be..... should/when you come to sell, will it be more attractive with a web/eber rather than propane to prospective buyers?
-
[edit to add] ..... so we can show off "Bling of the Broads"
Me...... No....... That would be my husband
-
Jonathan
Our friends will not be with us, so if you choose Goodchilds, you will be welcome to come with us to WRC on NYE.
-
Jonathan
Although there isn't a pub onsite at Goodchilds, bear in mind that there is a pub just up the road and next door is the Kingfisher private park with a clubhouse, we have never used either but know people from the marina who do and like them. You also have a chinese takeaway and the holiday park across the road has a year round indoor pool, etc you can use. You are also only a 10 min drive from Tesco, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, B&Q, etc, etc.
-
We are waiting to hear whether our friends Si and Di are coming on NYE's. Should hear this week. If they don't, you would be welcome to come with us and stay on the 'bling' boat!!
-
I presume the cleanness and tidyness is down to SWMBO......
-
He can manage the charts, as he has time to scrutinise..... Just red and green posty thingys coming up quickly which create a problem lol
-
oooh! Breydon in the new F33...I am up for that!! woo-hoo...watch out posts!
I suggest him indoors follows someone else as he appears to be colour-blind
