Smoggy. This was a foreign voice and like you I normally have the same reaction as you! However he mentioned talk talk before I had the chance and I got taken in. The funny thing was that when I got hold of t/t to make sure it was a con all the people I spoke to sounded just the same.

Once they had my details I don't think it would have been just £3 they took unfortunately

BEWARE. I had a landline call this morning, supposedly from talktalk. Very convincing stating that my speed was slow and they needed to send me a new router - free of charge, which kept my interest. I was logged into their site which was very official with talktalk logos etc. It showed my current internet speed and what the new speed would be.
He said the router would be delivered by Royal Mail and asked what actual time I would like delivery. This made me slightly wary as I did not think Royal Mail delivered to an actual time slot. He then said that whilst the router was free, I would have to pay £3 for the postage and asked for my card number. Alarm bells sounded and I rung off. He made 9 attempts to 'phone me back which I ignored. He kept messaging me on the computer which I then turned off. I spoke to talktalk and yes, it was a con.
Saved just in time, but be careful, he was so very convincing.

I don't know why you let it get like that in the first place.
Only joking. Looks amazing.

Not you Gracie, just a couple of other posts seemed to suggest that those urging caution were not in favour of sharing the rivers.
No one could suggest you meant any harm x
To be honest. If they all obey the rules of the river there is no problem - but will that actually happen - I hope so.

If you think this is bad, the Norfolk Broads Ultra is even dafter.

We're on the A12. Saw some of the build up before we left.
Came back from Beccles yesterday (one day early) to miss the crowds and put the bunting up!

Just out of curiosity, when was the £2 charge for water introduced at Ranworth staithe? We topped up there last year in October and didn't pay for it
We've recently booked a 13 night cruise holiday on Princess Royal, Auckland to Sydney then back to go around the South and North islands with stops at some ports along the way. Deluxe balcony suite booked with guaranteed sea view, return flight Heathrow - Honk Kong - Auckland. All in all, a very good price and in reality not that much more than if we booked a top end boat on the Broads for two weeks in the height of the season!
Chris
More 'disposable' than me then - maybe I should have saved some when I was younger!?

Have you looked at the price of cruises lately? There are some real bargains to be had - and you don't have to cook or steer the ship!

I couldn't log on this morning, I kept getting a message saying there was an error and to try again. Was there an upgrade or some such?
I've just got home and all is well again. So you now know the reason I've been quiet, sorry guys, I'm back and quiet no more x
Yes. I thought you had gone quiet too - just knew there was a forum problem.

Was just browsing L.H. Jones brokerage list and spotted what I am fairly sure is our old Sheerline 950. The change of upholstery, name etc., fooled me at first. It's nice to see her in good order. she is sold , so someone is in for some enjoyable boating. When we owned her she was called Hot Gossip and she is now called Saturday's Child. I wish her new owner joy.
Carole
I often look at brokerage sites to see if any of my old boats are listed. Have not found any yet so assume people must be enjoying them - just as we did

I have been with talktalk for years and cannot fault them. They cannot be held responsible for scammers.
