Yes you do have to pay at Norwich Yacht station they have attendant's on hand. John

Think they’re talking about upstream of the security gates John. Must admit I’ve always assumed all the moorings along that stretch are run by the BA. (They did in fact go a little further at one time, almost to the bridge I seem to remember.)

Regarding noise, there used to be a bus stop about a third down from the office, was noisy if you moored there, noticed the other week that the bus stop has dissappeared. Again didn't think to ask why when we were there.

    It was there last week.

  3. Looks like it’s part of the Womack to Potter walk. Dyke End appears to be where the track from Womack turns towards the pumping station, Horsefen Bank is part of a track from Potter but I can’t see how the two link. I suppose there may be a permissive path of sorts that is the subject of concern. Great Yarmouth and Cromer??

  4. Induction hobs are incredibly quick at heating pans, even faster than gas. I think they’re more controllable too. They only work with pans with magnetic bases so it’s easy to identify if one will work or not. And yes, it’s the residual heat from a hot pan that is left on the hob. Usually a light will indicate residual heat even if the hob is turned off. I love ‘em!

  5. Brooms appears to be the most expensive place on the Broads for almost anything. (I did notice that from October no cash will be accepted, only cards. Going to make a £3 water fill up quite expensive for them methinks what with the time needed to process a card!)

I had a thought why can there be a few places to Moor up for Senior Citizens and just pay half of the Mooring fees proof of.O  I D will have to be shown though I think?

Young people seem to moan enough as it is about the ‘wealthy baby boomers’ what with annual fuel allowances and brilliant pensions :default_wink: that they reckon they pay for! Start giving us half price moorings for our gin palaces :default_rofl:and top end hire boats and they’ll be really unhappy.
Nice thought though Andrew, keep working on a solution to the problem.

  7. I think I’m right in saying that the two public moorings BB had to offer were not in any specific place. The boatyard put you where they have room which means of course that they can always say they have no spaces. These moorings, any of the planning permission associated ones in fact, do not have to be free as far as I know.

  8. We often see this guy in amongst a flock of Canada geese, usually somewhere above Surlingham. I finally got a shot of him (?) in Whitlingham Country Park today. I’m hoping there is another Barnacle goose somewhere to keep him company!

I feel that we should be able to say who these companies are as a warning to others.

I’m inclined to agree with this but I know naming and shaming is a no-no. Maybe a pm to the member might be in order if feelings are really strong?

Certainly, reservations are closed off for 2022 for these boats. Have they appeared on anyone's brokerage sites? (They're not on Richardsons own yet). Just wondering if someone has bought them already, and maybe planning to take up the stag and hen mantle.
