Good to know they welcome people who have bought food at takeaways.

Seems to me it’s a good way of keeping pubs going, even with a lack of staff.

I get the impression that the Cantley mooring seem a bit low compared to others on the Yare. Whenever the river levels seem a bit high they seem to be awash. Not that we’ve yet stopped there overnight.

The Cantley moorings were even lower a few years back. The BA refurbished them but they’re still too low, as are the DTG Oulton Dyke moorings which still flood from time to time.

point and shoot and rarely edit anything other than the occasional crop!

I’m with you on this! I have had some good cameras in the past but never really got to grips with all the settings. I have an iPhone 11 Pro (which I absolutely love) and the camera on that is great. I do have a Panasonic Lumix which is very easy to pick up and point, even easier than finding the camera on the iPhone. Photos are easily transferred from Panasonic to iPhone for editing etc.

Hi 750XL, if you look at where others are mud weighting you will not go far wrong.

Best advice. Just look out for any shallow water signs or markers, they’re quite clear.

  5. I wouldn’t mind betting that you probably won’t be in the minority in holidaying at home next year. I reckon there are lots of people who will still be wary of travelling abroad because of covid. Three nice looking boats there but don’t delay too long as bookings will undoubtedly be well underway already for next year. Just as an aside, as you will be going for two weeks have you thought about something a bit bigger to give you more storage?

Also when having your tank pumped out, it is well worth asking if rather than pouring the dose of Blue into the pumpout fitting, would they mind if you poured it down the toilet instead. Took me a while to realise that the pump out pipe goes into the bottom of the tank and when they pour the Blue in, it just sits in the u bend of the pipe. The next pump out and the first bit comes out Blue where it had never actually reached the tank. Pumping it in through the toilet ensures it gets to work straight away and is actually in the tank.

We found that too. I think the boatyards we use are getting used to us making that request!

As I mentioned above a rating of 0-4 will not be published for 3-5 weeks to allow the owner of the business to appeal the result. Therefore it is entirely feasible that a second inspection has happened and although better, as it is not a rating of 5 it has not been published yet.

If that is the case, I would have thought any business proprietor in that situation would say so on their fb page or whatever.

I have not noticed 'fogging' happening.

I can’t imagine how Richardson’s for example would have the equipment and time to do all of their boats on turn round days. I believe the general thought now is that Covid bacteria doesn’t linger very long on surfaces as first assumed so maybe the fogging has been abandoned. If anyone is really worried on taking over a boat, there is always Dettol Disinfectant Spray (other sprays are available).

I'm one of those annoying people who still use the full stop, even in text messages, apparently that is now seen as rude or abrupt in a text.

Glory be! No wonder much of what is posted now doesn’t make sense to me. Much of it comes across as gobbledegook! In 20 years time the English language will be unrecognisable.

    Well yesterday actually!

    GOOD NEWS:

I had my skin cancer lesion removed at Cromer Hospital yesterday.

    BAD NEWS:

Having shaved my head around the ear they found more. They took a 4mm punch biopsy so I guess I am in for more knife work.

LESSON TO ALL ESPECIALLY THE YOUNG:

Wear a good UV protect hat like a Tilly, use high factor sun block. You are at higher risk as water users. When We were young the risks were not known and folk judged a holiday by the depth of their tan! A tan is not worth dying for.

I’ll second this. Both my husband and myself have had the same problems and undergone similar procedures. (I had one removed from my nose!)

Hope all goes well ChrisB, at least they have been found early.

hampered by several men fishing from the bank and they had numerous rods out all along which they were trying to move out of our way ,

This is so annoying at Bramerton. The BA signs there say ‘no bank fishing between 16 March and 30 September’ but the anglers take no notice. I have seen rangers completely ignore them too.

A few good points have been raised take a few Tins just in case No Moorings of fresh provisions but Packet of Soups are much better to store as for Fridges Bacon / Sausages and Mushrooms and Eggs Butter With own non stick Frying with the smell of cooking it waffling out of the Boat.

I think the smell of bacon wafting across a river in the early morning is one of the nicest things. Not quite so later in the day though, bbq smells are better then.
