My Mother In Laws Doctor passed away at the weekend. He was 84 years of age and still working till he got the virus. There was a big funeral procession today in Clacton for him and it was covered by Look East news. His Wife who is a Nurse also had it but she has since recovered thankfully.
Ivy (MIL) is 99 years young and in a nursing home now, We have decided not to tell her as she held him in such high regard and we don't want her upset. He had been Ivy's Doctor for the last 45 plus years and looked after her husband when he was dying.
I'm pretty sure there isn't a person on here who doesn't know someone who is fighting this virus.
We are living in very strange times, I hope and pray that these times improve for all across the world.

My Dad also has COPD.
He is 73 this month and his breathing and number of times he gets a chest infection is gradually getting worse.
He often comes out with me on the boat but he now avoids it when it’s cold and damp as it does not help his condition.
Hoping some good spring warm and dry weather will be with us soon so he can again enjoy some boating on the Broads.
Wishing everyone who has COPD all the best for many more healthy days than down days.

Just had some grub in the Bridge. Superb as always and the place runs like a Swiss watch. Excellent staff and a very nice drop of Ghost Ship
The low alcohol version is on tap at the Bridge and isn't a bad drop either......For when one is wanting to stay upright of course

I not long ago sent a picture of our boat for him to update the library image on his database.
Had a nice conversation with him via email.
A sad loss indeed.
Condolences to all that knew him.

Very jealous! Just curious, does the novelty wear off a bit by partly living on the boat? We keep toying with the idea of moving to Norfolk so we are close to the marina but don’t want to lose that special feeling that we are back on the boat or looking forward to going to it,
It's only the one night a week that I stay on board as it's convenient for my work.
To be honest, Ros probably enjoys it more, getting some peace and quiet from me for that one night

Not so sure I feel blessed this morning......Lack of sleep due to the rain and the fenders arguing with the pontoon all night

Did they supply a full turbo or repair kit? I think the kit is a hub assembly with the turbine blades attached that you fit into your existing housings and much cheaper than a full turbo., there's not much to go wrong with the housings after all.
It was a reconditioned turbo from French Marine with an exchange for the old one .

For the turbo, I know the pain of fuel all too well as I probably got through the best part of 1500+ litres last year.
It was about £1200 fitted .

It was a job to tell at 24mph....
21 knots is about what I get flat out with normal holiday loading (lots of weight), I have twin TMD41a's on shafts, I guess that means my turbos are fine.
Can I ask how much it cost you or is it too painful to think about?
For the fuel on the day or the turbo replacement?

Certainly did - friendly waves all round! Passed Lady Emma moored at The Bridge Inn as we passed by a bit later, too.
I was being a good boy as had to drive home later that day. I can say that the draft Ghost Ship alcohol free beer is a very nice thirst quencher

My Day
in The Broadscot Lounge
Posted
My day (yesterday) was an enjoyable water soaked day of cleaning Lady Emma's outside bits
After over two months of not being able to attend her needs and seemingly used as target practice for the seagulls, she certainly needed a good scrub!
Six hours or so later, she was looking a lot better.
Me on the other hand, well, I've gone a deep shade of lobster
