Gosh, it's very quiet, isn't it? You wouldn't believe that we are now in April. This just shows what an effect a late Easter can have. A very bad start to the tourist season, I fear.

It is very easy to forget that businesses struggle with lack of trade when we are out enjoying the Broads and having them all to ourselves. Hopefully we will have a lovely warm and dry summer and plenty of visitors spending their money and enjoying the area.

Definitely not, the air draft is too high and if I owned a boat, I would not post pictures. Having been on here for a while you get to know the ones that really love the broads and can only afford to hire a boat. But then you get the ones that just come here to brag to being able to own a boat! They are few and far between, but they are here. :default_icon_rolleyes:

Not sure why owning or hiring a boat makes you any more or less a lover of the Broads?

I for one enjoy seeing members pictures on here, either their own boat or ones they are hiring.

Does seem a bit of a shame to dampen the mood of this thread. Obviously the OP and his wife are very happy with their new boat and I for one wish them many happy hours on board and enjoying the Broads.

Where are the other Webcams. I know theres one at Wroxham & Potter Heigham.

If you click on the 'Handy Information' tab at the top of the page it will bring down a list including the broads webcams link:14_relaxed:

I find I can get a heck of a lot longer battery life around the broads by setting my phone to 2g only as it's not constantly searching for a better connection, I don't do faceache or twatter of the like and normally use wifi when needed for weather forecasts and the like.

I can't see why anyone would go to a boat to watch telly either, anything that can be streamed online can be watched at home another time.

I stay on my boat two days a week as I work up in Norfolk and it saves a 190 mile round trip to home.  I need a good mobile signal on board so I can send my days work back to the office. Also, I like to unwind after a day at work by enjoying a spot of TV on board........Different strokes for different folks and all that:default_wink:

P.s. EE works fine for me at Acle .

  5. Had a great morning Tuesday out on Lady Emma with Ian Stewart crewing with me.

A mix of a few photos and videos from the day.

Leaving Acle Marina at 07.00hrs to arrive at Great Yarmouth for low water.

A bit further up the Bure approaching Stokesby.

Moored up for dropping Nav Lights and a quick brew before arriving at Great Yarmouth.

    Return run over Breydon Water.

Plenty of clearance but did drop the aerials and Navigation Mast . Had about 12" clearance above the radar dome under the Yarmouth bridges.

Shortest most boring write up ever.

Sailed Saturday about 1600-ish, still windy but gale ceased, overcast but dry and cold.

Gave 'B.A' a run to the Southern end of Barton Broad and back to base for about 1700-ish.

Nowt to report, saw no one, heard nowt, said nowt much either

    Griff

    Sounds idyllic Griff:14_relaxed:
