  1. Not such a bad idea in principle though, kids (and their parents) will be diverted by a bit of touristy stuff that was cheap and doesn't impact the locality negatively.

No cost to the Nav budget and a bit of thinking outside the box, a definite improvement on the Acle plan! πŸ™‚

Will you and Mrs Ray be doing the royal wave as you cruise along?

Mrs Ray will be but I know my place, I shall be polishing the silver and cutting the crusts off cucumber sandwiches for her afternoon tea 😁

  3. We'll be keeping the name, apart from anything else the name vinyl is new and was only put on within the last couple of weeks.

She has never been in a hire fleet but was a liveaboard for a while. Since then she has received loads of tlc and upgrades and is in excellent condition throughout.

Can you tell, we're really proud of her lol

  4. We are the proud new owners of this beautiful Bounty Sovereign 34, a big step up for us. An excellent mutual arrangement being concluded with our friends at Swancraft.

In reality change tends to swing between extremes before settling in the middle. It is becoming an alien landscape to many of our generation at the moment

Things also get distorted from their original intent. The phrase Health & Safety these days is almost a byword for petty regulations but when it was first widely introduced it probably saved many lives and prevented serious injuries.

There used to be a boat moored at Hartford marina on the RGO in the late 80s early 90s called Sir Osis of the River. I can't remember what sort of as boat other than to say it was a smallish white cabin cruiser.

This is Sir Losis of the River when we had her. We sold her in 2021. They may of course be other boats using similar names.Β

Sadly no photo I’m afraid Ray, shame as I recall she was dressed up a bit to get in the spirit of the impending session at the ship once the rats arrived in the minibus laid on by Woodfordes, Folkstone Light had all the bunting on too strung up over the roof etc.

Not to worry, it's just nice to know she's out there and looked after πŸ‘

Thinking that a current member owned or had some part in the history of that boat.

Indeed I owned Sir Losis of the River as she was previously known, I understand the pun was particularly apt as the owner at that time was a pub landlord 😁

She was Dakota when we had her and a lovely wooden topside she had. Great to learn she is out and about as I haven't seen her for 2 years!

Do you have a photo by any chance Turnoar?

  9. You are definitely not being unreasonable. While we can all appreciate that 'things' can happen it is up to parents (& dog owners etc.) to be and act responsibly. It is simply being civilised and part of society!

I have had to accept there are no illegal or economic migrants in our country. Every media outlet I watch or listen to state on any topic of any visitors here illegally that they are - asylum seekers, every single one.

Why can’t the media outlets just speak the truth? I can take it, I can
