    Why ???

Manchester City played for 2 seasons without a No 9 since Sergio Auguro left

    They didn't too badly 😁

This year they have probably the best striker in the world and are in danger of not retaining the title 😳

Having said that I wish Frank Lampard all the best I always thought he was a top player and is also a top manager

Top player, as a manager though average at Derby, below  average at Chelsea and Everton.

  2. Now confirmed as Chelsea's caretaker manager until the end of the season, last November in their case! Apparently John Terry was instrumental in Frank's appointment, it will give Terry more time to spend with Christine. :default_cool:

That's not what the brand is for.

They're essentially a budget Renault, hence the bodyshells are based on previous-generation Clios. All of the development costs for the platform, crash structures etc have been amortised during the main model run and a budget brand is a great way of giving those platforms a second life to earn from them and help reduce development costs further.

As an example, Dacia use the same door panels for most of their cars to minimise the cost of tooling.

It won't ever be a mid-range marque because Renault already has their own brand for that. Dacia is for people that see a car as a household appliance, a means to get from A to B. Those people don't care that it's the previous gen Clio in a dress, or that the production accountants have been busy reducing costs by removing features, sound deadening etc.

Hyundai / Kia are very different in that they are the main brands for that manufacturer. They do have others but those are their main focus and so they want them to be aspirational.

Every day is a school day, many thanks. 🙂

I hear they're fitting them with radios and electric windows now too.:default_norty:

Give it a few years and Dacia will be up there with other car makers, just like Skoda and Kia now are.

Question Simon. In the top right of the display it shows the speed. How do you change this from kph to mph. The central large option is in mph.

Get a six year old nephew to do it. :default_dry:

On your age of BMW the key holds all the service data and mileage , I thought when you said the price it was very cheap the key they gave you is a basic key without the chip. These are available, a channel I watch called salvage rebuilds often get cars without keys but they normally pay around £200 for a chipped one. Must be someone close who can program one for you.

I've watched Salvage Rebuilds for a couple of years now, two very able guys. 🙂

Had 4 passengers in the back of a Capri once, steering was a tad light!!

Amateur, we were once due to go to Walsall's ground on coach, (late 1980's) not enough turned up to make it economical. We quickly hired a 12 seater minibus, all the hire firm had left, and all 25 of us piled in! The police were far from impressed when they stopped us on the outskirts of Walsall. Happy days. :default_cool:

A few years ago we stayed at the Camping and Caravan Club's site at Woodhall Spa, with a couple of friends. Handy for the village, Thorpe Camp, East Kirby, Coningsby and other historic sites. We visited the Petwood hotel and especially it's small museum room dedicated to 617 squadron.

While there we had a cuppa in the lounge where we saw an old Gentleman doing the same, with what we thought was a carer looking after him. After that we went to Coningsby and parked by the perimeter fence by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. There is a board there detailing all the flights for that day. One of the flights specified that it was to pass over the Petwood hotel. Strange? Then it dawned on us: it was May and an anniversary weekend of Operation Chastise.

To this day I regret missing the opportunity to just walk over and say, "Thank you Sir."

Better late than never: Thank you Sir, you and your kind will never be forgotten.

Every government of the past 70 odd years should have said thank you Bomber Command by way of a dedicated campaign medal, shame on them all. RIP George Johnny Johnson MBE ,DFM, hero.

  9. Harry Redknapp has heard of him, ' Mike Tyson wouldn't last two rounds with him',  'Jamie, don't go anywhere near that nutcase', Alan Hansen, 'he was crazy', Alan Shearer, ' he was evil' and Vinnie Jones, 'the hardest footballer ever'.  When at Oxford he'd had a couple of bare knuckle fights for cash and when he turned up for training, with nine stitches in his face, he told the staff he'd had a car crash. In the next match he clashed with Bruce Grobbelaar and the stitches burst open with blood everywhere. Oxford's physio told Billy he'd have to come off, his reply was 'you try and take me off and I'll ******* kill you!.  We saw him sinking pints in a local pub at 1pm on a Saturday matchday, ' alright Billy, not playing today?' Nope, I'm on the team sheet!' Different days. :default_cool:

I hate to say this, but Tony Adams is getting  better. However if Ron Chooper Harris if was on Strictly  he would smash it.

Pah, I can resist anything but temptation. Strictly is not for me, each to their own though. As for Harris, the Thurnscoe Express ( aka Billy Whitehurst) would have him for breakfast, after four Weetabix! :default_biggrin:

I'm much the same but I would like to see the girls beat germany just to get one over the overpaid ego monkeys that are the regular england team (and most footballers).

The regular England team that for the past 15 years have donated their match fees to charity, benefitting charities to the tune of several million pounds?
