I have just spent Sunday afternoon TRYING to fish at Coltishall, up by the old lock. For anybody contemplating this, just forget it. The place is crowded with people on canoes and paddle boards and the fishing is totally ruined. Fair enough, I am not against canoes or paddle boarders as long as they are sensible and try their best not to get minced with my propeller.

It came to mind, just with the exception of The Canoe Man's craft how many of these craft owners are either BCU members or have actually purchased a licence from BA?

I always buy a temporary licence for my boat and always buy a full licence for my rods but it appears all these people are getting their pleasure destroying my pleasure for free.

BA please note. instead of putting up the price of our boat licences, check elsware to see where other revenue could be obtained.

    THat's it! Rant over.

This year was our third time on a boat on the Broads, every time has been out of the fishing season and every time we've seen several people fishing. Some of them were even fishing whilst their boat was underway, crackdown on them methinks.

Ps joking about the wrong section, but here I will alienate many....

I cannot stand:- golfers, anglers , football fans etc.

I have many hobbies but unless I am with a like minded hobbist I do not talk about them.

I too don't like football, I'm a Hull City fan!

It was bound to happen with smart meters which is one of the reasons I will not have one.

My mother in law has power supplies by eon next, last week her latest bill arrived, '£55 in credit as read by smart meter. It's a very 'smart' meter as she doesn't have one and I supply them with her readings.  :default_biggrin:

  4. There's some fantastic interpretations of what was said when you have subtitles on. Recently our local BBC newsman said 'these stories tomorrow at half past six' subtitles had it as 'these stories tomorrow at happy sex'! :default_rolleyes:

    ‘Did the honourable thing’

They are well practiced in this

Scotland should be applauded for their recent brave stand against tyranny.

This time, brave Scotland have ceded their place in the finals to Ukraine (if they beat Wales) because of the war there - oh yeah, there's the Qatar boycott as well.
In 2018, in protest at Russian aggression against Ukraine, they boycotted the finals there.
In 2014, in protest at deforestation of the Amazon, they boycotted the finals in Brazil.
In 2010, uncomfortable with continued inequality in South Africa, those finals were boycotted.
In 2006, still angry about them bombing Shugie's Gran's chippy in Clydebank, they boycotted the finals in Germany.
In 2002, as part of a campaign for a peaceful resolution of the Dokdo Islands dispute, they boycotted the finals in Japan and Korea.

I know that there is widespread disapproval in Scotland of the unfair USMCA deal that replaced NAFTA. If this is not addressed in the next four years, they will boycott the US-Canada-Mexico finals in 2026.

I hope a decent country can host the 2030 World Cup so Scotland can attend. But let's applaud their strong moral stance over the last 20 years.

Typical - just checked my dashcam - it's gone faulty and not recorded anything for goodness knows how long.  Ball peen hammer here I come :default_pcwhack:

Tip - Never buy a 'Toguard' dashcam

    Griff

    Sods law.

  7. I've got a dashcam which is motion activated when the engine is off. When you have the cam fitted it's surprising how many times you could put footage on one of those YouTube sites.

  8. Fully agree with Mouldy, especially about Barton Broad been confusing. We're on the Broads next month and will be crossing Breydon, as with the last twice we've visited the week before we go I'll be phoning GY yacht station asking them the best time to cross, even though we have the tide times chart.

We are supposed to be on that service from Hull to Rotterdam in May :default_sad:

I'm sure it'll be running again very soon. Best of luck getting to the docks, just three and a half years left before completion of the A63 road works! 😜

    • Thanks 1
  10. We had food there in May, and it was very nice.

    Memo to self,

When leaving Cantley make sure the boat is actually in gear, giving the throttle more revs doesn't work, especially when the boat ends up sideways on! Luckily only two other boats were there, and I realised my mistake in time.

Why am I not correct.. ??
Yours was the only closest reply back.

You're not correct because you claimed if the situation were reversed everyone would claim Hamilton won it fair and square, I'm not everyone and wouldn't be claiming that. You also claimed that everyone diverted away from the answer, I didn't.  You're all over the place, still, you are a Verstappen fan! :default_norty:

Still avoiding the answer to the question I asked… Nothing to do how sportsmanship he is… I asked a question.. But everyone seems to divert away from the question…

    So I will answer it..
if Red bull had of lost and they went to the stewards with there barrister and demanding unfair… everyone would be shouting and screaming saying that Lewis had won fair and square.. Am I correct ???

No you're not correct, and everyone has not diverted away from question, I answered your question shortly after you asked it.

    Here’s a question …

What if Lewis Hamilton had won yesterdays race… The exact same scenario as Max Verstappen..

Would you all be up in arms and calling him a cheat and dirty racer….??

I wouldn't have been happy  at all. That said Mercedes should drop their appeal and threat of legal action. Hamilton showed a lot of class and good grace yesterday, follow suit Toto. It's happened, move on.

Mine eats raw, turkey is on the menu every few days, so perhaps it makes a difference once it’s cooked, although I buy frozen cooked chicken pieces as training treats. He eats anything I give him to be honest, tripe, minced rabbit including guts, pheasant carcass etc and he like cheese as a treat too. He stole a pheasant breast I’d just taken off bird the other night, was very cross, but he is as gentle as you like when retrieving them when working, so obviously doesn’t associate an actual bird with dinner!

Our dog is also raw fed, he won't touch pork or lamb though. He loves tripe, and the odd bit of cheese.
