  1. We picked our boat up yesterday and had a comprehensive handover. I've been before, on a very similar boat, so was happy to leave without the trial run, but they asked several questions to make sure I'm competant. Unlike the oaf that passed us last night  just before Acle moorings, travelling well in excess of the speed limit, he cut right back in front then immediately  applied full reverse to nab a mooring he'd spotted! We were taken through the gas bottle procedures, and shown the Captain's handbook, which I've read, along with It Broadcaster and tides timetable. Well done R*******ons.

Did they get there little paddle out and start waving it around?

The best thing you can do in this situation is shout these exact words, "I don't have time for ping pong today" and just carry on doing whatever you were doing before. Some times they'll follow you, waving it with there silly little blue light on but that's just because they can't get enough of ping pong. I promise they will stop eventually though.

    Always worked for me.

    Send in the 'auditors'!

  3. We were lucky enough to moor at Irstead, on our one and only visit so far, on our last night two years ago. Didn't realise how far the White Horse was to walk to, well worth it though.

....that's because I got a £100 fine and 3 points(more than Liverpool can get these days 😅)last week on my way to Gretna(79mph in a 70mph)....grrr..🤬

The pitch at Anfield is full of Maris Pipers, it'll give them something to lift in May! :12_slight_smile:

Interesting although of very limited value; I'm trying to think of all the attractions in Northumberland. Beamish, Hartlepool heritage centre.....

    Barnard Castle, Specsavers...

  6. Our first, and so far only, trip on the Broads was two years ago. The advice on here about crossing Breydon was very useful and if followed makes for a stress free and fairly easy crossing. We crossed on our third day and moored overnight at Reedham, before returning north the next day.

We're back this May and September (pre-booked last year) and fully intend heading south again, but staying in the south for longer this year.

Good grief!! I kid you not, you could buy a palace on my manor for that. And have enough left for pattie and chips to celebrate.

So, if those are going for 300k what would the Sandersons ones fetch I wonder?

Pattie and chips, had them last week. :12_slight_smile:

  8. Ian, it may be worth a try having dispersible paracetamol. I know paracetamol is only a mild/moderate painkiller, but a few years ago I found the dispersible ones worked far better for me than the ordinary tablets,  could have been psychosomatic but as I said perhaps worth a try. :12_slight_smile:

Well, us Donny Rovers fans are in danger of needing oxygen masks once again, we currently lie fourth in our division (1) with a game in hand, which if we win that puts us top outright.  Championship once again here we come.  Just hope Rotherham stay up so we can give them another lesson

    Your starter for ten,

Doncaster's record attendance was against?                                                                            Bonus points, Chelsea's first ever home league match was against?   :default_biggrin:

  10. On a downward curve at the moment, hey ho. I wasn't born in Munich, Barcelona or Madrid, nor did I have a distant relation whose paperboy's next door but three neighbour had links to one of the 'big' teams. So, I'm stuck with my home city football club. :default_cool:

That is actually Ian, he's let himself go a bit........

Apart from the fact he's smiling it looks like Ken Bates, the ghost of Christmas past!
