  1. I use this distance calculator a lot https://www.norfolkbroadsboathire.biz/distancecalculator.asp.
  2. Eliza is 2 and half and weighs far too much for her mum or Gran to carry in a papoose. I just tweaked my back opening a can of Strongbow so I will have to take it easy for a few weeks.
  3. Whether we manage it in a few weeks or not, it is now on my to do list to visit the Wherry Inn. I like the cruise down to Geldeston so that could be an option.
  4. Thanks Paul, I think we can only give it a go and see how it is. If it's looking like too much hard work we can always turn back and seek another hostelry for the debrief.
  5. I think it will be more like push me round in a wheelchair by then.
  6. Thanks Jean, I think you have confirmed what I expected, and might have to leave that walk for another time. Either that, or I do it myself and give the girls some peace for a few hours.
  7. On Monday 27th July we were planning on doing a walk from Beccles Yacht Station to Geldeston with a visit to the Locks Inn and return. I had it all planned out, and thought I would check on how the pub will operate. Imagine my delight when I saw it isn't open on Mondays. I have since been told that the Wherry Inn will be open, so that's Christine's half of mild sorted. Since planning the walk I have been informed that Grandchild and her mum are likely to be joining us, and that could potentially mean a change of plan. I read somewhere that the path down to Geldeston on the bank over the bridge, can be a bit wet in places but how wide is it? Said Grandchild is only 2 years old and a 7 mile walk would mean most of it on my shoulders unless the path is suitable for a small buggy. Any information regarding this route and the likelihood of surviving it would be appreciated. I suppose if the first half was too tricky, a few extra beers and a taxi back from The Wherry wouldn't be the end of the world.
  8. It would be interesting to hear from the boatyards about this. Obviously I have no idea what actually happened when the group in the video picked up their boat but what if only 2 people or 4, who could say they were from 2 different households picked up the boat and then picked up their friends away from the boatyard? It doesn't make sense to me that any boatyard would take these kind of risks knowingly.
  9. Thanks for watching Jean and keep up the good work with your videos.
  10. Cabin fever and alcohol can do strange things to a person. We might hear from the girls again but they won't be seen again as the demanded more money for appearing on camera.
  11. It's hard to get a balance for you both. Obviously Dk's tastes aren't as selective as yours.
  12. Well, actually it is 99 as I didn't start until day 2. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Just like losing 7 lb whilst in lockdown seemed like a good idea too. Now, with potentially 3 days of lockdown to go I only have to lose 17 lb and I will have cracked it. My previous videos have been random footage with a bit of lightheartedness thrown in. Day 100 is a 100 minute long special. I had the idea that come Saturday the Northern Rivers could be a tad busy, so I used some footage from April 2019 that follows us to the Southern Rivers. It is intended as a guide for anyone who would like to escape the north for a few days who might be a bit nervous about the Breydon Triangle. For seasoned cruisers there is the opportunity to see how cabin fever has affected my sanity.
  13. It is the same scenario with nonessential shops opening, allowing me to shop with countless strangers, who may have touched something I purchase. People not following the guidelines and the arrows if they have them, and certainly not at all times remaining 2 metres away from me, yet I still can't have my family round unless we are outside and there's only 6 of us in total. No economical value for a family get together.
  14. Thanks for the lovely welcome and Fred, don't forget I have a story about your boxers. Whether it's true or not is irrelevant. Now, I need to work my way around the Forum and get used to how it works. Any tips?
