  5. just a thought if your running twin engines try one on synthetic and the other on the usual oil if you encounter any probs switch to what ever is doing best, personally the only problem i can see is the cleaning adddatives in synthetic removing any carbon build up and thus lowering compresion on the engine some more info on the following links http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/9-8-2006-108031.asp http://www.howstuffworks.com/search.php

  8. hi there yes i agree on the easy start addiction only as a last resort thing for me the perkins glow plug pulls a lot of current so thats why there will be a relay in the electrical system it works by heating the spillback to tank weep to the glowplug igniting to give a flame to heat the air in the inlet manifold so be carefull if you have been pressing the prheat switch as if the glowplug is working ok it will be VERY HOT the switch contacts burn out, also can be a faulty ign sw fuses blow cable melts glowplug fails or burns out relays fail aux wiring to relay fails as well just a few things to check AN OLD DIESEL CAN CRAVE THE EASY START BY BEING LOW ON COMPRESSION WHERE IT WILL NOT IGNITE DIESEL BUT WILL THE EASYSTART
  9. im guessing the red diesel for farmers will go the same as for everyone and they will have to claim a rebate back on white fuel
  10. as to the LPG USE A FORKLIFT GAS BOTTLE holds 19kg or 11kg depending on size gas conversion kits from~ http://www.kompass.co.uk/directory/comp ... 263965.htm http://www.hkl-gaspower.co.uk/ as to the original problem of increased fuel consumption did you have new tyres fitted on the service or did the dealer ajust the tyre pressures sounds daft but it can make a difference
  11. the 300 watt inverter would supply a surge of up to 600 watts as the manual stated with it but not on this TV / VIDEO so thats where the logic came from on the power needed
  12. hi i guess depending on the size of engine and as a diy job parts are easly come by to convert to lpg the engine needs to be water cooled as the engine coolant warms the gas unit to stop it freezing up i will add a link when i find it for parts http://www.wtv-uk.co.uk/normal.htm http://www.hkl-gaspower.co.uk/default.aspx this last link is the cheapest arround for all gas parst for engines we have found they have offers on as well
  13. hi Perry on using a 300watt inverter to run a prtable TV/Video we had to switch it on and off like mad to get the inverter to cope with the power pull so we bought a 800 watt one which copes ok just with the surge on start up so i rekon the tv needs another 500watts just to start it
