  5. Just for info. Aquafax on the Jewsons estate in Hoveton sell 7840 from 5mm to 51mm
  6. Soon as I saw it my first thought was that stretch, only trouble was the more I looked at it doubts crept in, hence my slightly hesitant answer.I think from the mill up to Dilham is one the most delightfull stretches.
  7. Very good Bruce, Are you using any special lens on the West Somerton picture, the dyke looks about twenty yards wide rather than twenty foot. Sorry for the imperial measurement but this metric rubbish just seems wrong for rural Norfolk.
  8. Probably wrong, but I feel it may be on the Ant between Hunsett Mill and Wayford Bridge. Still it gets the ball rolling.
  9. Hi Johnm, I think you're talking about Buttercup restored and owned by Patrick Richardson of Phoenix yard. he sailed her for the filming dressed up of course.
  10. I think it is a good idea after fully charging the battery to attach a very low wattage light to let it gradually drain and recharge when low. This keeps the battery cycling.
  11. Try this link for some good photos http://www.radiobroadland.co.uk/PhotoWa ... 0&id=34030
  12. Yes, how it gets away will influence what happens up the rivers. If like last night the tide doesn't drop the water will back up on the Bure putting places like Horning and Wroxham at risk over the weekend.
  13. Yarmouth harbour entrance is rapidly disappearing http://www.bbc.co.uk/norfolk/content/we ... bcam.shtml
  14. Looks pretty rough on the Cromer webcam http://www.bbc.co.uk/norfolk/content/we ... bcam.shtml
  15. Sounds like there is some flooding up the Yare at Reedham and Brundall. Nothing in Wroxham as far as I can see but that will come late today or into the weekend
  16. It's now rising rapidly Tune in to Radio Norfolk for more indepth local news 1 hour to high tide and surge and flooding is underway
  17. Could it be 'The Holt' on the bend in Candle Dyke?
  18. Do you rember the shop at Womack, passed the staithe, this was run by a Mrs. Golling?? (think that's the right name) it used to have a monkey outside in a cage. Then there was the shop on Horning Staithe run by Sissy Lant, open 365 days a year, including christmas day. It was possible to buy a single egg or a couple of slices of bread from Sissy. the shop on Thurne Dyke was run by Basil Curtis, bit of a sour bugger, and his brother ran the shop on the river bank at Acle. One shop that cannot survive much longer must be the shop/PO at Upton. As a protest against the villagers not supporting the shop enough, she opens minimum hours and keeps minimum stock!!!
  19. I believe that a group of residents from the Avenues in Wroxham took this to the high court and got an injunction against the route of the bypass. When this evetually was overturned the government funding had been used elsewhere, the only money left was the county council share, this was only enough to create the present roundabouts each end of Wroxham/Hoveton aand the two pedestrian crossings
