  1. Jenners Thorpe? or --- maybe Cox's Barton Turf
  2. He did indeed have a white apron and a bobble (minus bobble)hat and a grumpier old sod you'd be hard put to find :-D
  3. I believe the stern view at Landamores is an Oyster 655 and the one tented over is an Oyster 56, am I right?
  4. You're right there Pete, don't know why. I see if I can redo http://www.hoseasons.co.uk/UKPark.aspx? ... %20leisure http://www.summercraftboats.co.uk/
  5. Clive, The photos you took in November '78 where of Turners Boatyard, first on the left as you turned down Ferry Road in Horning. Run by Dennis and Peggy George. bought by Colin Facey when they retired, rehashed then sold again, now just faceless characterless buildings. Not that I'm bitter but that part of Horning had a lot more charm than the rubbish that planning allow nowadays
  6. Summercraft have holiday cottages around their boatyard area and if they are the same high standard as the boats you won'y go far wrong. I believe a lot of them have a day launch with them. here is a link to their rangehttp://www.hoseasons.co.uk/UKPark. ... %20leisure You can also contact them directhttp://www.summercraftboats.co.uk/contact.php
  7. Just found this on a website, don't know if it is the same Monarch as in Springsongs picture or wether one of the other two. Anyway, it is an interesting page, plus the links on the top left. http://www.beautifulbritain.co.uk/htm/n ... onarch.htm
  8. Like that last piccy Dan. You're right about Stalham Tesco, very strange clientel in there, I'm saying that and I only live a few miles away!
  9. Hi Paul A slight aside, but if you get a chance pick up todays EDP, there is a stunning full page picture with a king fisher and a pike both fishing at Strumpshaw. If it appears on their website I will post the link for the folks who don't have access to the paper.
  10. Aquafax stock a comprehensive range of tinned cable. http://www.aquafax.co.uk/html/products.asp?ID=2623 I don't know where your boat is, but there is a branch in Wroxham and also here http://www.aquafax.co.uk/html/aboutus3.asp
  11. My sources tell me that Moores will soon be no more, that the boats will be taken over by Barnes Brinkcraft, JPC will relocate to their premises at Lowestoft and the yard will revert to private moorings.
  12. As JPC/Moores are agents for Sleipner bowthrusters and they fit them to their bigger hire boats I would say that they are worth taiking to. 01603 784884
  13. Ah yes, know Peter well. Used to run the Woods End Bramerton many moons ago. His father was Gillie Tallowin, ran the New Inn Horning in the 60's before Malcolm Potts.
  14. i think it is a little like the motor industry Pete, there are some out to rip you off and at the other end of the scale, as you seem to have had, someone who will charge a fair price AND be fair. There are one or two examiners that, by rumor, shouldb be avoided. For the sake of those who are wary maybe you could recomend this guy.
  15. After all that does this mean my guess was the first correct one??
  16. Well thats thrown me , I would swear that the bungalow on the right is the Holt, just as you enter Heigham Sound
  17. Next to the Holt in candle Dyke looking in the Hickling direction
  18. The dyke leading from Sutton Staithe onto Sutton Broad

I see from todays EDP some chap took a 29lb pike from the Bure near Wroxham (downstream going by the photo) last weekend. Seems even the fish wanted to get out into the sunshine!
  20. Cambodia ? :-D :-D :-D :-D What about the Ant?
  21. No you can't take a Bayliner on it Brian. Go to the Ant map and it is to the NE of How Hill.
