hmmm, as you say, a simple idea.

Just ten LEDs connected to 10 bare ended wires immersed into the tank at 10% increments.

In this day and age I thought it was going to be some sort of echo sounder or something !

I suppose the tricky bit is using some sort of skin fitting to pierce the tank and hold the DIY vertical "rod" in place.

I reckon even that would be easy to achieve with a length of plastic conduit and a waterproof deck gland, poke the prepared cable down the tube and seal the top with some silicone or liquid latex. A couple of holes drilled near the top of the tube and at interval down it’s length , that would ensure the liquid could rise and fall easily inside the tube.

What would happen though if you got a right wet Manchester Crocodile jammed in the tube touching the wire?

I believe the Manchester crocodile, is from the very same genus as the Thames trout. Regards to all................ Neil.
