Jbx5
Any body else noticed very low water tonight. We struggled to get into our mooring at Brundall. I put it down to bang on low water time, no rain for a few weeks, full moon. hope its not a regular occurrence on the new moorings. ExSurveyor
It does happen occasionally on the southern side, I think it is affected by pressure and tides rather than rainfall.
addicted
Only had one experience of running out of water here in Brundall Bay. Last Spring when we had pushed the boat over to the adjacent mooring to access the other side for cleaning when we went to push/pull it back it stuck fast on the bottom halfway over and wouldn't go back onto our own mooring . We had to wait for the incoming tide to give us a bit more depth
Baitrunner
Spring lows. On our old mooring in BB we used to bottom out all the time which is why we moved. Never bottomed out but on low water it can churn up the silt. Quite a few marinas do suffer this problem in brundall at low water though.
ExSurveyor
I have sat on the bottom once last year at BGM, and that was out on the river, first time in five years. The marina does sometimes suffer but I think they are planning some dredging The new half is worse as apparently the peat swells up after digging out because of the removal of the upper weight . VetChugger
Mark, tell Dinger to get out there with a bucket and shovel in his wellies! Might raise a guffaw if you tell him who made the suggestion!
ExSurveyor
I think you know the answer I will get Dinger is officially part time now and has moved out the wet shed. Rumour has it they are going to pump dredge the new basin in the summer, just not sure which summer .
