Brian
Anymore votes on this please. Dont forget you can vote 3 times 1 for area 1 for time 1 for catering
Happy Jax 3
If the votes falls to the north, surely Ranworth would be the most sensible choice. You have the staithe, island and even floatilla's on the broad. Good access for boats and cars. Oh! I nearly forgot a pub too..... 2nd choice could be the Lion Inn at Thurne. Very large family area, Plenty of moorings, you never know Sid may even crack a smile.

Ohhh. not going up there, my charts only say "Dragons be here" for that area, also, where's the decent pub, and how do you expect to get on the staithe, it's always booked by school parties? Brian, for goodness sake where's that TIC emoticon
Guest
but then again i would want somewhere where there is shore power
senator
Where ever the meet is held shore power is going to be a bit hard to find unless you can find sufficient places in a marina, lets face it, public moorings, 2 plugs and 20 plus boats. North or south will be tainted by where everyone moors but central would seem fairest to all and offer the Breydon expierience which is what first fired the idea. As said all over this thread the Brightside is different so it is totally in keeping with this that the location gives the widest possible spectrum of boats and facilitys on the broads, where else can you run model boats and go for a 40 knot spin in a twin engined sports boat. maybe it should be left to others to do the 3mph for the next 30 mile locations, if this is to be the main meet then fill it with all things boat, I am sure there will be plenty of opertunities for a north and south meet through what is bound to be a balmy hot wind free summer. Guest
BUMP! How we doing? Dates in diaries would be a good plan, 'specially as (being parochial for a moment) we're planning to move to Norfolk this year and boaty weekends will need to be booked up well in advance to fit round house selling and buying tedia. Bruce PS Belated Happy New Year to all.

Boaters
Hi,read all posts with interest. As there is a meet in the North ( which many are joint members with this site.) mid summer could we not have a early Barby type event somewhere like Bramerton,Berney,or elswhere in the Southern Broads or Stokesby,St Bennetts or Salhouse in the North.Later in the Summer a pub evening,Laying up type supper, informal evening, fish and chip supper at Thurne,Sutton,Ranworth or perhaps some of the Southern boaters have some ideas. Most could offer facilities for a reasonale number of people ,the number of members coming by car would have to be catered for.but something to look forward to on top of our normal boating. RedRover
What dates are we looking at, after easter end march early/mid april?? We are obviously not going to please everyone, does it have to be on a freebie 24 hr mooring or will people be prepared to pay for one ??? comments please. RedRover
We do not mind where its held as we are both retired but most people i assume are working which will make it difficult for them with limited time on water unless they are on hols.
