Flood Warning Rivers Yare And Waveney

The tide was very high on The Yare at Hardley Cross this morning at 8am. Tide was over the top of the quay heading by about 8".

Well, finally made it to St Olaves to be told it nearly topped our quay. Our private road was a good 6" under water. The level dropped quite quickly in the first hour but was still high at 2o/c.

3:45pm. Here in Norwich the tide has only dropped only 5 or 6 inches and now on a flood tide. Lowestoft tides looking interesting still, way above predicted.

We had difficulty getting back to our mooring at Loddon this morning. We had to moor in the basin and unload there whilst waiting for the water levels to subside. Even then it was still coming over our home mooring.

Looks like it will level out a bit now. Maybe get a couple of good low tides as it all sloshes back up north?

At Horning sailing club the river was only 6 inches below the quay heading at low tide today. So I would expect it to to the quay at high tide.

A few yrs ago it got to the door n the day after I went out in my dinghy to recover a table that had floated off n came back after lifting the outboard I sailed right up to the pub side entrance n I've had to use a table to get back onboard once or twice , its always fun there if you like water
