YnysMon
I purchase Kindle books directly from the Amazon website. It seems to recognise the gadgets I have kindle loaded on and asks me which I want the book downloaded to. It’s not a problem to then sync to other gadgets.

I can however download to tablet once purchased on the Kindle. Conversely I recently read a travel book with YouTube links. The kindle was not supported anymore so had to watch on the tablet. Doesn't seem a problem, I downloaded a book yesterday to my Samsung Galaxy, online from Amazon Books.

ChrisB
It is just the act of actual purchase that is blocked. Once purchased on my Kindle Paperwhite I can download to any of my tablets or phone.
YnysMon
That the first time I’ve seen a kindle edition to be more expensive than the real McCoy, even the hardback!
