Oddfellow
Drop the outboard down to us at Thorpe. We'll take a quick look at it for you. Might be something simple. PM me or leave a message on 01603 858453 to let me know when you're comming. Andy
brandenjg
Hi Andy, i got the outboard working the day after i snapped all the various parts. I didn't know you guys at freedom worked on outboards. May have to bring it along for a service in a few months time. Funds are a bit low at the minute after accidentaly buying a stereo for the boat. Oddfellow
Glad you've got it running. We're hoping to do more private work now that we have greater facilities. Outboards are something we are keen to increase in terms of supply, service and repair and trade. Andy
Guest
In case anyone else is looking for a cheap local 4 stroke, theres a really nice looking one on ebay at the moment, Yamaha 9.9 4 stroke, complete with tank and remotes, in Norwich, for £750 bin. As always with ebay of course, "buyer beware"... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-9-9-hp ... 4d096902ae
brandenjg
Hello everyone. I found a 15hp 4 stroke like i wanted at a boatyard that offer finance. All ordered and just waiting to sort delivery. I don't regret fixing the merc 20 because it means i can sell it as working. Pics of the new outboard below :-P Sent from my XOOM 2 ME using Tapatalk HD
w44nty
That looks nice Brandon, you will certainly notice the difference, cheap to run and it will be very quiet as well
Guest
Yes, very nice indeed, it will tickover like a watch and sip fuel at Broads speeds. They appear to be the red hot target for theft though, 4 stroke, 10 to 15 hp. I'd make sure it's fully insured for theft, and with all of the Insurance Company's stipulations strictly observed. (Don't just rely on one of those dubious cheapo "Police" bags !)
Guest
Any additional anti theft precautions would be an excellent idea Branden, but perhaps best not to mention them on an open forum.

Oddfellow
Jones has always been a great boatyard to do business with.
