Antifoul

Hi,

I have used international antifoul in the past and it looks like Norfolk Marine wants about £90 for 2.5 litres, this antifoul is at Toolstation has anyone used it as it is almost a third of the price

Go to marine & Industrial (Worstead) and get some Seajet, you can get 2.5L & 5L (5L much cheaper for boats of 25' + where you nee more than one 2.5L),I have never tried the tool station stuff.

There are other good quality and much cheaper alternatives to International & Blakes.

I've used "Teamac" marine paints, which are far cheaper, but are used extensively by commercial vessels.

They have stockists around the country, like Aqaufax at Hoveton, and also do mail order.

Their antifouls are around £35 for 2.5 litres, and you can often get a discount on those prices too, just by asking:

That's a shame, it was quite convenient for me, I bought some there last year, and they're still showing as a retail outlet on the Teamac website.

There's plenty more around here though, such as Martham Boats and Stiffkey Marine at Holt, (unless they've not been updated either !)

Hi Ian,

We used Flag antifoul on Folly's Pride, when we took her out of the water last year there was still antifoul on the hull and no fouling to speak of, I will be using it agaig this time.

Thanks for the feedback, I think I might give the flag a try. Now all I need is some antisnow ready for Easter!

We use Seajet Emporer 034 which has proved very good, but is expensive. However, last month's MBM reviewed Seajet Shogun 031 which is about half the price and performed very well. Might be worth a look?
