Hockham Admiral
Fascinating, Jill. Would the Mark Funnell at Woods, Potter Heigham, be the one I knew at the RNSYC who ran Hardy Marine until his death last year?
Oddfellow
Yes, that's Mark Funnell. Just look at that list of names. All those businesses gone. You could fit that list on the back of a DL envelope now.

trambo
Interesting Jill. So I take it he took over E.J.Eastwood and put his name to the front. I had always assumed a member of the family had taken over. wayford marina was not a blakes yard as it was for private boats Wayford Marina was a Blakes yard for many years from the 1950s to (I would have to check) the late 80s. Started as Wayford Bridge Yacht Station. Not sure but think there may have been a Windboat connection at one point. Fred
gancanny
you are correct about the windboat connection fred as i hired from wayford in 1969 on a boat called "CONCORDE" which was a ferrocrete wind boat. following on from what jill said regarding mike harveys death in a glider, the owner of the yard over the river, john linford, also died in a light aircraft accident, now that yard was a blakes, known as neatishead boatyard
