Gale force winds in Yorkshire at the moment

We are having gale force winds at the moment in South Yorkshire which started as predicted at around 5.30. The wind speed is estimated between 80 to 100 mph. No doubt we will hear of the damage in the morning.

 

The police have advised to travel if only necessary.

The local Beeb people are on location on the Somerset Levels at the moment.  Today has just made the situation worse.

 

Even here in the most sheltered of areas the wind has been interesting.  We had a 'lovely' thunder clap over the bungalow half an hour ago, followed by large hail.

 

Poor Rosie's nerves are shot - she's not as bad as our first corgi who used to try to burrow through the carpet when there was thunder, but she's still not keen.
